J&K: NIA conducts multiple searches in Rajouri district in connection with Reasi terror attack case

NEW DELHI: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) carried out searches at multiple locations in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, as part of the ongoing investigation into the Reasi terror attack case.
According to an official statement issued by the NIA, the searches resulted in the seizure of various items that demonstrate linkages between the terrorists and overground workers (OGWs).
The terror attack in question occurred on the evening of June 9, when terrorists opened fire on a bus carrying 'yatris' from Shiv Khori to Katra in the Pouni area of Reasi district. The attack caused the bus to veer off the road and fall into a nearby gorge, resulting in the tragic deaths of nine people, including a child.
Following the orders from the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, the NIA took over the investigation on June 15. As part of their ongoing probe, the NIA searched five locations associated with hybrid terrorists and OGWs.
These locations were identified based on information provided by the arrested accused, Hakam Khan alias Hakin Din. The NIA revealed that Hakam had been instrumental in providing safe shelter, logistics, and food to the terrorists involved in the attack.
The NIA has begun examining the seized materials to further unravel the terror conspiracy. The investigation aims to identify and apprehend all individuals involved in the planning and execution of the attack.
