As per a viral video doing rounds on social media, passengers travelling from Delhi to Varanasi on the Vande Bharat Express train were shocked to see the leaking roof of the train.
The video went viral in no time leading to a backlash against the Northern Railway. Take a look at the video:
The video shared by the X handle @priyarajputlive shows the roof leakage leading to drenching of seats. “Tell everyone in your college! No body should be travelling…..,” a woman says in the video. Sharing the video, an X user wrote, “See the condition of Vandebharat train. This train runs on the Delhi-Varanasi route. The number of Vande Bharat is 22416.”
As soon as the video went viral, the official handle of Northern Railway shared an update and mentioned “temporary blockage of pipes” as the reason behind the leakage. “Slight water leakage was observed in coach because of temporary blockage of pipes! The same was attended and rectified by the staff on the train. The inconvenience caused is regretted,” the handle wrote.
The video shared on July 2 has garnered over 44.5k views and 389 reshares.
Reacting to the video, a user wrote, “When you pay the full amount for the ticket, the railway will provide AC as well as a waterfall.”
Another user wrote, "Ac ka drain pipe alignment is spoilt or is it the outside rain."
