Excerpts...
How did you land the role in ‘Kalki 2898 AD’?
My audition process was quite simple and swift. The team got in touch with me directly asking me to audition, I sent my audition tape and received the confirmation call within an hour.
What was it like facing off against Prabhas in a significant scene from such a big-budget movie?
It was the most thrilling and fulfilling experience facing off against the legendary Prabhas in such a grand project. I feel immensely grateful to Vyjayanthi Movies for having trusted me with such a job.

Could you share one of your fondest memories from your time on the set of 'Kalki', whether it's onset or off-set interactions with your co-stars?

My fondest memory has to be the one in which Prabhas personally gave me tips in an action sequence with him. He didn't have to at all, but he did it in goodwill and brotherly spirit. I felt supported and uplifted by him, I finally understood why he's nicknamed 'Darling Prabhas'. He's filled with kindness and humility.
Did you anticipate such immense love and acceptance from the audience, and how do you feel about it?
I honestly had not anticipated such immense love and acceptance from the audience. I find myself being spotted on the streets by patrons and fans, they seem so invested in the film and they truly appreciate my craft. As any artist you always yearn to communicate an idea, an essence, a character to your audience, to move them, to make them feel something. And to be able to do that and get such heartfelt feedback is a very overwhelming feeling.

Was Deepika Padukone Pregnant While Shooting For Kalki 2898AD? Nag Ashwin Gets Candid About Her Work In His Latest Sci-Fi

Can you describe the specific training and preparation you underwent for the fight scenes and acting in accordance with VFX requirements?
I went through rigorous training with the action team for the action sequences, I also ended up enduring a few minor injuries during the process. Acting in artificial backgrounds where cinematic zones are different can be daunting because as an actor you've got to exercise your imagination way more. But my job was made easy by my director - the amazing Nag Ashwin - he's a man of few words but he speaks with utter clarity and calm. He is very sure of his artistic vision and that lends a lot of confidence to his actors.

What was your experience like working with Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone?
Working in the same project as such icons is a big deal and my experience working with them has been the most exciting and enriching. I learnt a lot from them, especially Deepika Padukone who is very professional and a team player. On the first day of shooting with her I was a little nervous, I guess she caught on to that and cracked a joke to ease my nerves. That gesture meant a lot to me, I feel very fortunate to have shared screen space with her.
Could you provide any details about the sequel (part 2) of the film, especially since you were featured in a credit scene?
The only detail I can provide about the sequel(part 2) is that it is going to be even more thrilling and exciting than part 1. A lot of the shooting is already done and a lot is still left, we all aspire to make part 2 bigger and better.
What are your future projects that your fans can look forward to?
As of now I am deeply engaged in touring with my theatrical production called 'Boys will be Toys', once we're done with shows in Bombay, we plan to stage it in other cities too. I've also started work on a lovely new film project about which it's perhaps too early to talk.
