Ahead of the second anniversary of Sidhu Moosewala's tragic death, his co-star Mandy Takhar fondly recalls her time with the late artist. The duo worked together on Moosewala's final film, ‘Yes I Am Student’ (2021), where they shared a camaraderie that melted hearts.
Mandy Takhar vividly remembers the warmth of the film set, where Sidhu’s mother would often join them, setting up meals like a communal langar.
She describes Moosewala as innocent and nervous, qualities that shone through as he embarked on his acting career. "Watching a renowned artist like Sidhu begin his journey in acting was both interesting and endearing," Takhar reminisces.

Mandy also shares a charming anecdote from the filming of the song ‘Jaan.’ She recalls a genuine moment when she tripped, and Sidhu Moosewala instinctively caught her, preventing a fall. This incident was so touching and real that it was kept in the final cut of the song. "No one knows I really tripped. I am grateful for such sweet experiences in his last film," she recounts.
Further, reflecting on the late artist's personality, Mandy Takhar remembers him as an innocent soul. She says, "he had the most childlike smile." Despite his aggressive lyrical style, Moosewala was, in reality, gentle and filled with dreams. "He was a director's actor, always striving to give his best in every scene. His kiddishness is what I will remember most," she says.

Those who know of Sidhu, know that he still is living in hearts via his music. Speaking about the same, Mandy mentions Sidhu's music will be evergreen. He achieved legendary status in just five years, something many artists have strived for their entire careers.

In the wake of his death on May 29, 2022, Mandy Takhar has maintained a connection with Sidhu Moosewala's parents, Charan Kaur and Balkaur Singh. She recalls visiting them during the Akhand Paath and being struck by their resilience. The birth of a new child in the family has brought some solace, offering a glimmer of healing amidst their profound loss. "Sidhu is irreplaceable, but seeing his parents embrace life again is truly inspirational," Takhar concludes.
