A 29-year-old marketing executive, Faheem Firdous Qureshi, was arrested for posting anti-national messages at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre. Qureshi, from Kashmir, had been working at BIEC for 11 months.

BENGALURU: A 29-year-old marketing executive at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) was arrested Thursday for allegedly posting anti-national messages on social media.
Faheem Firdous Qureshi, from Kashmir, has been working with BIEC since he came to Bengaluru 11 months ago.
On Wednesday, BIEC management shared Qureshi’s messages with jurisdictional Madanayakanahalli police by email.
One of his messages on his X handle @formerfunny read: “When I is replaced with We, India becomes weIndia, meaning we will end India.”
Next, the bachelor posted on X: “Bodied a pajeet client at work today. How is the situation no in Kashmir? Hataa dalla, cze kyuho?”
Acting suo motu, police registered a case under IPC Sections 505 (statements conducing to public mischief) and 153B (imputations, assertions prejudicial to national integration) against the resident of Platinum City, Peenya.
“The messages were posted from June 10; pajeet is a derogatory racist slur targeting Indians,” an investigating officer said.
Qureshi was produced before a court which handed him over to two days of police custody. “When we enquired, Qureshi said he posted the messages for fun. However, we will question him further on the issue,” the officer said.
