@Flimm: the same thing as … what? the question was how to find information about key-combos like x. using :help is one way, using :*map to check current mappings to the actual function being called is another.

@Michael: yes, you can. it just doesn't do anything if you do not have permissions. if you need to send a signal to a process for which your regular user does not have permissions: then you need to gain access, it is as simple as that. but what is your point with your comment? that the os prevents one user from killing process of another user? that is by design.
