VAIO was a brand of portable and desktop computers made by Sony Corporation. Created in 1996 for Sony's re-entrance to the global computer market, the acronym originally stood for Video Audio Integrated Operation, but in 2008 was amended to Visual Audio Intelligent Organizer.

Some notable VAIO computers include the P series subnotebooks and the Z series high-end thin-and-light laptops.

As of February 2014, Sony has exited the PC business and no longer makes VAIO PCs.
