"Four or six times", where is five? This isn't really a literary question, but a language one. It's very common in ordinary speech where I'm from, for example. |

Is "Ἐλλάχ" the proper Greek transliteration of "Allah"? And for someone who keeps harping on 6's being "devilish", they sure missed the fact that 24 (which they say is the number of books in the Hebrew bible) is "6 + 6 + 6 + 6". |

Is "Ἐλλάχ" the proper Greek transliteration of "Allah"? It's just such a ridiculous, obviously religiously-motivated argument. Do you really think that person will believe what some random SE site will say? |

How would you say "There was an invasion of grasshoppers." in Latin? Locusts indeed are a type of grasshopper. |

Last two feet of line II.355 of the Aeneid @Cairnarvon Some lecture notes I found online says "there are only 57 indisputable fifth-foot conflicts in all of Vergil vs.e.g. 63 in the first 444 periods of the Odyssey", citing Wilkinson 1963, p. 122. |

What led to the alternate definition of secularism in India? @MCW A better way to ask it would be: "What factors led to this particular understanding of 'secularism.'" Then one can do a historical study of the concept in Indian literature. |

Phrase similar to sui generis- possibly related to taxonomy I edited your answer to include a basic definition, so that others will see why you hazarded this term. Feel free to further edit it to elaborate on your thoughts. |

Classical Languages/Cultures? At least as ancient Greek is concerned, it's officially welcome on Latin. It would be fantastic to have a site that encompassed the rest of the languages (and their corresponding literature, religion, customs, history) you mentioned. |

Did courtiers of antiquity hold in their pee or did they have common commodes available in the king/queen's court? Re: Louis XIV, the question asked about ancient or medieval courts. The 17th/18th century is neither. While it's an interesting story, it doesn't really answer the question. Are you able to connect this incident with one further back in history? |
