I am a 40+ year veteran of the IT field. I have one third / two thirds split between Programming and System Administration in both individual contribute and management roles.

Currently I am teaching computer support in a Vocational College. Main goal is to teach the student how to learn on their own. This is the classical meaning of a hacker , learn by doing.

My experience is a mile wide and an inch deep, with a handful of 5 to 10 year deep dives into various technologies. This make me quite ordinary IT professional or Prosaic.
