A foil is a type of weapon in the sport of fencing. It is very flexible. Foils are 110 cm (43 in) or shorter and weigh under 500 g (18 oz). Their ends are not sharp.[1] In fencing, you can only get a point if you hit the other person with the tip. The foil is used more than any other weapon in fencing.[2]
