📝 𝗚𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 👩🏼🏫 The Singaporean-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce / AHK Singapur was pleased to welcome 9 companies from #Germany to #Singapore this week on #Training and #HigherEducation, part of the Market Entry Programme #MEP funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK). We kicked off Monday with a country briefing from the SGC, German Embassy, Germany Trade & Invest, and a session from EY-Parthenon on the ASEAN private education sector investment landscape. This was followed by a meeting with our Gold Member TÜV SÜD, who shared insights into their technical education programmes and local funding opportunities for collaborations. Additionally, our team organized 21 individual B2B meetings over two afternoons. These sessions allowed our delegates to #connect with potential stakeholders and gain #exclusive background information for market entry into Singapore! 🤝 A highlight of the MEP programme was the Symposium, where delegates presented #innovative solutions to about 60 representatives from the 🎓 local education ecosystem. Dr. Tim Philippi from SGC and Dr. Thorsten Clausing from the German Embassy Singapore opened the event. We heard from Silvia Niediek on Germany's training landscape and Roger Lee from Singapore Association for Private Education (SAPE) on private education opportunities in Singapore, while Markus Waechter of Technical University of Munich (TUM) Asia discussed the establishment of a German University in Singapore, and Azizah Mohd from NACE Led by NYP introduced their workplace learning initiatives to support business growth. The German companies gave compelling pitches, sparking interest during the networking sessions. From June 26 to 27, 2024, participants showcased their expertise across key modules covering foundational #Industry 4.0 theories, advanced supply chain management models, technology integration, and principles of design thinking. Beyond mastering theoretical concepts, trainees applied their knowledge to real-world projects aimed at enhancing their companies' operational efficiencies, highlighting the profound impact of Industry 4.0. 📢 𝗦𝗚𝗖 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝗗𝗕 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗧𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵🤝 Last week, the SGC together with its Board and Advisory Council members held a meeting with the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB). As part of the meeting, Mr Cheong Boon Png, Chairman of EDB, and Ms Shirley Qi, President of SGC, emphasised the strong collaboration and importance of regular engagements to foster the evolving economic relationship between Singapore and Germany. 🤝 The insightful session saw the sharing of medium-term priorities for the Singaporean economy; strengthening the city state’s role in global manufacturing, the development of an ecosystem for frontier technologies, as well as the development of local #talents and business leaders. 🏭🔬👩💼 During the open dialogue, topics such as the support for foreign enterprises, as well as strategies and schemes to support foreign businesses and entrepreneurs in Singapore in the light of rising operational costs were discussed. 💬 The meeting underscored the robust partnership between SGC and EDB, setting the stage for enhanced collaboration and shared growth opportunities.
