🌟 Diversity and Inclusion at Höganäs 🌟 Embracing diversity and inclusion enhances our problem-solving and decision-making capabilities and ensures every voice is heard, while broadening our talent pool. This year, we made significant strides in our diversity and inclusion journey. We developed a comprehensive roadmap, breaking down our ambitions into clear, measurable objectives and goals with both short- and long-term action plans. 📚 One key initiative was launching our e-learning course, "Sustainable Workplace for Everyone", aimed at raising awareness about diversity and inclusion. 🗣️ Our inclusive communications guide complements our Code of Conduct, detailing how we should interact and support each other. This year's leadership training, "Collaboration Across Boundaries", focused on understanding cultural differences for better cross-border cooperation. 🚫 We maintain a zero-tolerance policy against discrimination in any form, including sexual orientation and gender expression. 👩💼 Gender diversity is a critical focus area for us, especially in our traditionally male-dominated industry. By 2026, we aim to increase the share of female co-workers to 20% and female executive managers to 35%. Together, let's continue to foster a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive! We are now able to provide a product-specific carbon footprint for products produced in Sweden with complete Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) models in place. This will support customers in their emission-reduction goals and contributes to Höganäs’ long-term target of reaching net-zero emissions by 2037. “Many of our customers already face demands from their own customers to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from the value chain. This will become increasingly important as many car manufacturers have set net-zero targets. Thanks to the data we provide, our customers gain a powerful tool to reduce their scope 3 emissions,” says Fredrik Vinnerborg, Product Portfolio Manager. “To ensure transparency and enhance communication with customers we have created Product Carbon Footprint summary reports, for all base powders which have LCA models in place,” says Sofia Poulikidou, LCA Specialist. We are committed to driving positive change through material innovations and helping our customers in achieving their environmental goals. 🌍 #powderthatempowers #sustainability #hoganas

Somaloy is Höganäs’ trademark for Soft Magnetic Composites (SMC), powders developed for the manufacture of high-performing electromagnetic applications, such as traction motors for electric vehicles. The Somaloy 5P product family was the first to have its carbon footprint verified by a third-party. “Carbon footprint data is increasingly requested by customers. The third-party verification demonstrates that our data are credible, following well established methodologies,” says Sofia Poulikidou, Life Cycle Assessment specialist at Group Sustainability at Höganäs. Climate transition is the key driver for our customers. Electric drivetrains will not be enough for the automotive industry to secure its future, it also needs to cut emissions in the manufacturing process. Höganäs is now working to offer carbon footprints for a broader range of products as product specific environmental impact data is becoming the new norm within the industry. We are also working on more comprehensive Life Cycle Assessments that include a wider range of sustainability metrics and environmental impact data. Interested to learn more, don´t hesitate to reach out. #lifecycleassessment #höganäs #netzero2037 https://lnkd.in/d6zSfHaB

We’re thrilled to share that Höganäs has taken a significant step towards our goal of achieving 100% fossil fuel-free production by acquiring two pre-owned wind turbines for our Ahmednagar, India plant. These turbines are now operational and generating around 15% of the plant’s monthly electricity consumption. ⚡ This investment is a testament to our commitment to transitioning to renewable energy and reducing our carbon footprint. As the world’s leading manufacturer of metal powders, we hope our actions will inspire others and amplify the positive impact on a global scale. Catharina Nordeman, VP Group Sustainability, highlights:  “At Höganäs, we are dedicated to leading by example and setting a standard within the metal powder industry that large corporations can successfully integrate renewable energy sources into their operations.” 📍 The wind turbines, located 100 km from the plant, each stand at 150 meters with a rotor diameter of 120 meters, generating 1.25 MW of electricity, which equates to about 15% of the plant’s annual electricity consumption. Magar Sharad, Director Operations at Höganäs India, adds: “Integrating these wind turbines into our operations will help maximise the conversion of thermal energy to renewable energy. It will be a good learning opportunity to get energy through open access for implementing our future solar power plans.” Looking ahead, Höganäs India is exploring investments in solar energy, aiming to boost renewable energy usage from 15% to 85%. This forward-thinking approach not only reduces energy costs but aligns us with our sustainability agenda, contributing to a healthier planet. 🌟 Here’s to a greener future with sustainable innovation! 🌟 #Sustainability #RenewableEnergy #WindPower #GreenInnovation #Höganäs #SustainableManufacturing
