A gray morality superhero web serial by John "Wildbow" McRae, Worm follows the adventures of Taylor Hebert, a high school girl who gains the power to control insects.
Started in June of 2011 and completed in November of 2013, Worm is a web serial (an extended story published one chapter at a time on the author's blog) about Taylor Hebert, a high school girl with the power to control insects who wants to become a superhero but ends up becoming a supervillain.
Worm is notable for its gray morality, where few characters are purely good or evil and the "hero" & "villain" labels don't necessarily correspond to good & evil. Many or most (though not all) superpowers are weaker than is common in the genre, and tactical/creative use of powers and combinations of powers is a major element in most of the combat sequences.
