Christopher Tolkien, born in 1924, is the youngest son of J. R. R. Tolkien. He is the editor of much of his father's posthumously published work. If the question concerns the Middle-Earth universe in which Lord of the Rings is set, use the [tolkiens-legendarium] tag as well.
