Job Overview

The Regional Threat Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for developing and applying their threat knowledge and intelligence skills to the protection of SAP employees, facilities, events, and assets in the Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) region. This is a position in the Intelligence, Threat, and Crisis Management (ITCM) Team in Global Physical Security Department, within the SAP’s Global Security and Cloud Compliance organization.

Qualification

The Regional Threat Intelligence Analyst will report to the Co-Global Head of ITCM (Intel) and work within a diverse team of threat intelligence professionals to deliver high-impact, business-relevant assessments supporting security threats and risk management within SAP. Within the centrally managed ITCM team, the role holder will conduct research, provide consultancy services, and deliver intelligence products on threat topics relevant to current and future security risks, and in support of physical security services at SAP.

Relevant threat topics include geopolitical (e.g., armed conflict, terrorism, civil unrest), crime (e.g., kidnapping, active shooter attacks, assault), manmade and natural disasters (e.g., infrastructure failure, severe weather events), and business-specific threats (e.g., workplace violence and insider attacks).

Primary Responsibilities Include

  • The creation, management, and review of intelligence requirements aligned to internal customer needs.
  • Managing all-source threat information (e.g., OSINT, government, industry), to include the identification and evaluation of new resources.
  • The development and delivery of threat consultancy services, such as:
    • The monitoring and analysis of strategic and operational threat trends across markets
    • Threat support for risk, vulnerability, and control assessments.
    • The production of assessments on current and emerging threat issues.
    • Bespoke products and briefings for security and business stakeholders.
  • Close collaboration with Global Physical Security’s Global and Regional Security Operation Centers (GSOC/RSOC) in support of 24/7/365 threat detection services.
  • Internal stakeholder management, both to refine customer requirements and enhance opportunities for converged threat management (e.g., physical, social media, and cyber).
  • The development and growth of external relationships – with vendors, industry intelligence peers, and government and law enforcement partners – in support of the mission.
The Regional Threat Intelligence Analyst will seek to continuously improve their work and enhance the team’s performance in line with the team’s standard and procedures.

Experience, Education, And Certifications

  • 3+ years of professional experience as an intelligence analyst
  • Educational experience in related fields (e.g., degree in political science, international relations, security studies, and/or intelligence) or equivalent professional experience (e.g., military, government service, or private sector corporate security).
  • Previous experience working in a multi-disciplined threat or risk team is desirable.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and analytic skills, including ability to use structured analytic techniques in line with recognized academic, government, and industry approaches.
  • Able to conduct focused and independent research on a range of threat topics.
  • Ability to write and publish finished intelligence assessments.
  • Strong communication and engagement skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with Microsoft Products (e.g., Excel, SharePoint, and Teams).
  • Experience of working within virtual team in a global, diverse organization is highly desirable.
  • Experience of / a willingness to learn data analytics and visualization techniques, and related software and tools, in support of the delivery of threat intelligence. Use of software such as Power BI is highly desirable.
  • Ability to pass background verification.
  • Strong English skills.
