Last week a delegation of our Liquid Filtration team visited our bleaching earth partner at Minerals Technologies/Amcol. Next to visiting their office in Istanbul, we also visited their bleaching earth plant at Usak Turkey.   The visit was not only an opportunity to connect face-2-face again with our business friends. It was also a great opportunity to contact with its wider team, their progressive technologies and their impressive state-of-the-art dedicated bleaching earth plant at Usak Turkey. During the plant tour we were able to see with our own eyes the well-equipped and well managed plant that is in operation since 2018. As the ICT Coordinator of Profiltra, I'm not a true cybersecurity expert, but thanks to my partner who works in the cybersecurity sector, I've gained a good understanding of what's happening in that world. It's important to be aware of the constantly evolving threats in the digital realm. Therefore, here are some tips and tricks that I'd like to share with you: 1. Stay Informed: The Digital Trust Center (DTC) provides valuable information about cybersecurity. Visit their website regularly and read the latest updates on security issues to stay informed. 2. Make Phishing Recognizable: If you'd like to engage your colleagues in the world of phishing in a fun way, Awaretrain | Security Awareness offers various free posters for the coffee area. (You can also turn to them for security awareness training). 3. Verify Suspicious Emails: If you're unsure about the legitimacy of a received email, always consult an IT colleague or directly contact the sender using a known phone number, not the contact details provided in the email itself. 4. Beware of USB Cables: Be cautious of so-called OMG USB cables. They may look like ordinary USB cables at first glance, but they're not! These cables can record everything you type, including passwords, and wirelessly transmit the data to hackers. So, be alert about who you lend a charging cable to if you happen to forget yours, and NEVER allow someone to charge their phone via your laptop just because there's supposedly no available outlet nearby or because they don't have a charging adapter with them (or any other excuse). By following these simple tips, you can better protect yourself and your organization against cyber threats. Stay vigilant and share this post with others to create a safer digital environment."

4 Cybersecurity Tips van onze ICT-Coördinator Miranda Moot 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗺 𝗷𝗲𝘇𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝗲𝗻 𝗷𝗲 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲! Als ICT-coördinator van Profiltra ben ik geen échte cybersecurity-expert maar, mede dankzij mijn partner die werkzaam is in de cybersecurity-sector, heb ik inmiddels wél een goede kennis van wat er speelt in die wereld. Het is belangrijk om bewust te zijn van de voortdurend evoluerende dreigingen in de digitale wereld. Daarom enkele tips en trucs die ik graag met jullie deel: 1.      𝗕𝗹𝗶𝗷𝗳 𝗼𝗽 𝗱𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗴𝘁𝗲: Het Digital Trust Center (DTC) biedt waardevolle informatie over cybersecurity. Bezoek  regelmatig hun website en lees de laatste updates over beveiligingskwesties om op de hoogte te blijven. 2.      𝗠𝗮𝗮𝗸 𝗽𝗵𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗻𝗯𝗮𝗮𝗿 Wil je graag jouw collega’s op een leuke manier meenemen in de wereld van phishing, dan heeft Awaretrain | Security Awareness allerlei gratis posters voor bij de koffieautomaat. (Je kunt bij hen ook terecht voor security awareness trainingen). 3.     𝗩𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗮𝗰𝗵𝘁𝗲 𝗲-𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀 Twijfel je over de legitimiteit van een ontvangen e-mail? Raadpleeg dan altijd een IT-collega of neem rechtstreeks contact op met de afzender via een bij jou bekend telefoonnummer, niet via de contactgegevens in de e-mail zelf. 4.      𝗪𝗲𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗽 𝗷𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝗲𝗱𝗲 𝘃𝗼𝗼𝗿 𝗨𝗦𝗕-𝗸𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗹𝘀 Pas op voor zogenaamde OMG USB-kabels. Ze lijken op het eerste gezicht doodgewone USB-kabels, maar dat zijn ze niet! Deze kabels kunnen alles registreren wat je typt, inclusief wachtwoorden, en de gegevens draadloos verzenden naar hackers. Wees er dus alert op van wie je een oplaadkabel leent als je die van jou even vergeten bent en laat NOOIT zomaar iemand zijn telefoon opladen via jouw laptop omdat er in de directe omgeving zogenaamd geen stekker vrij is of omdat ze geen laadstekker bij zich hebben (of welk ander smoesje dan ook). Door deze eenvoudige tips te volgen, kun je jezelf en je organisatie beter beschermen tegen cyberdreigingen.
