This year's theme emphasizes the importance of collaboration and teamwork in realizing the common goal of improving health outcomes..
The Design for Health by CcHUB Practice at Co-creation Hub (CcHUB) had the opportunity to be present at the 5th edition of the Lagos Health Summit, ably represented by The practice lead, Stephanie Okpere, who led a section where she shared her insights on “Driving Sustainable Last Mile Innovation: A Community Of Practice Approach”.
Stephanie Okpere announced the launch of the Health Tech Connect Africa, a Pan-African community of practice that aims to revolutionize healthcare delivery by fostering context- specific innovations through strategic collaboration among stakeholders, including startups, governments, and local communities.
Building Sustainable Communities of Practice
The presentation delved into the concept of Communities of Practice (CoPs) as a powerful strategy for ensuring sustainable impact within the healthcare sector. CoPs bring together diverse stakeholders – healthcare professionals, entrepreneurs, and policymakers – to share knowledge, solve problems, and co-create solutions. This collaborative approach fosters long-term engagement and ensures solutions address real-world needs.
Last Mile Innovation: Reaching the Underserved
The discussion also highlighted the importance of "Last Mile Innovation" – extending healthcare solutions to underserved communities. This strategy emphasizes tailoring solutions to the specific contexts and needs of rural or remote areas. By fostering collaboration with local communities, the Health Tech Connect Africa ensures innovations are context-specific, culturally relevant and have a lasting impact.
Looking Ahead: A Collaborative Future for Health
Co-Creation Hub's commitment to fostering collaboration through the Health Tech Connect Africa aligns perfectly with Lagos Health related policies. By working together, we can create a healthier future for all Africans.
The project would contribute towards improving the utilization and adoption of health tech solutions, and enhance rural healthcare access using cutting-edge technologies.
