The National Eye Health Program (NEHP) is driving measures to eradicate preventable blindness, notably through President Tinubu's initiative to distribute 5 million glasses across the country. NEHP is saddle with the responsibility of working with both governmental and non-governmental partners. with an emphasis on capacity building, policy impact, and program integration into primary healthcare systems the goal is to lessen the burden of avoidable blindness and visual impairment among Nigerians.
The NEHP made various publications guides and guidelines for the management of various eye health conditions, as well as emphasizing the importance of ongoing training for primary healthcare personnel.
So last week, CHAN, ACHAP, Restoring Vison, visited the National Eye Health Program coordinator Dr Oteri Eme Okolo MBBS, MSc (PHEC) FMCOphth, FWACS and wonderful team at the Federal Ministry of Health.
The disscusions was geared on how the partnering organization can work together to address the issue of PRESBYOPIA in country and how this partnership can support the 5million glass distribution initiative of the current president of the country.
