A digital piano is a modern electronic musical instrument, different from the electronic keyboard, designed to serve primarily as an alternative to a traditional piano, both in the way it feels to play and in the sound produced. A digital piano has weighted touch-sensitive keys and the sustain pedal. Instruments without these features should be tagged with the [Keyboard] tag instead.

A digital piano (sometimes incorrectly referred to as an electric piano) is a modern electronic musical instrument, different from the electronic keyboard, designed to serve primarily as an alternative to a traditional piano, both in the way it feels to play and in the sound produced. It is meant to provide an accurate simulation of a real piano.

While digital pianos may fall short of a real piano in feel and sound, they nevertheless have other advantages over acoustic pianos. A digital piano may or may not be designed to look similar to the acoustic piano.
