Please add HotCat gadget on niawiktionary

Hi, I don't have interface admin right on niawiktionary, so I can't add HotCat gadget there. We need this for our daily tasks to categorize the entries we have edited.

In particular I can't created the file nia.wiktionary.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Gadget-HotCat.js which should load the script from the Commons and I can't edit the file nia.wiktionary.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Gadget-definition]] to add add the line about the script name. Admin election

Since there is currently a gap in the decrats, we are not allowed to evaluate an election. It should:

Our local policy requires at least three bureacrats [1] and there are currently just two, after two resigned [2]. Until new crats are elected in two weeks [3] our remaining bureacrats may not use their rights.

Though as this election has clearly failed, I don't think we need stewards assistance. Our policies only requires crats to implement the election results (-> grant admin rights if elected) or decide in case of a result very close above/below the 66% threshold [4][5].

The evaluation of the election can also be done by admins too (which has happened in the past as well). I will proceed to do so this evening. Johannnes89 (talk) 18:54, 8 February 2023 (UTC)

(Edit conflict.)It appears dewiki has a policy that they must have at least 3 bureaucrats, and they currently do not. I'm not exactly sure what the policy stemming from a 2009 RFC requires when this is violated - it seems they are asserting that they effectively have no bureaucrats at this time.

The policy says nothing about what happens when there are less then 3, bobody cared or even thought about that this could actually happen. You could temporarily revoke the permissions of the remaining two bureaucrats, but that doesn't seem to make much sense since all bureaucrat actions are publicly logged and thus abuse is not possible. Zabe (talk) 21:07, 8 February 2023 (UTC)

The 3 crat rule is used for mutual control. At the moment there are only two, there are 5 to choose from, so the problem will be solved shortly. The "active" rights of the remaining two are currently dormant, meaning a steward would have to perform rights assignments if necessary. Since no assignment of rights was necessary here, an admin has now evaluated the candidacy. Now let's wait a good week then the whales will be over and we will have more than 3 crats as it stands. Need help to solve Unusual behavior of Infobox in Santali Wikipedia immedietly

Hi, Izbo and I were discussing the strange behavior of the infobox on the Santali Wikipedia on the Meta Tech page here. Izbo proposed two solutions: the first one requiring local Interface administrator rights. I don't have and don't want to take on because of time constraints. The second solution requires manual work. I am requesting assistance with resolving the infobox's width issue on desktop mode as soon as possible as it looks very odd. Update Gadget-popups.js on pt.wikisource

Wikisource in Portuguese has the popups gadget, however it is not translated. This version on Wikibooks in Portuguese imports translations from the Wikipedia in portuguese, then it would be desirable that the gadget on Wikisource to be updated to how it is on Wikibooks. ━ ALBERTOLEONCIO Who, me? 19:23, 20 February 2023 (UTC)

@Vargenau: The categories were deleted on February 16 by WikiBayer. There are still a number of pages tagged for speedy deletion though, but for some it is not clear to me why these need deletion so I'm not deleting them for now. A bot has created in 2007 thousands of useless categories that will never be filled (e.g. पुचः:सन् १०१३य् च्वगु सफू means Category:Books written in 1013).
