Speedy deletion Douglas Smigly

Status:    Done

Cross-wiki-spam. Already (speedy-)deleted in most Wikis, except su:Douglas Smigly, ht:Douglas Smigly and si:Douglas Smigly. Can someone please delete this last three? --Dandelo (talk) 09:09, 7 May 2017 (UTC)

I deleted in the page htwiki, there is no such a page in siwiki and suwiki have active administrators, so ask them. Ruslik (talk) 14:47, 7 May 2017 (UTC)
The articles are deleted in siwiki and suwiki. --Dandelo (talk) 17:53, 14 May 2017 (UTC)

Sidebar at is.wikisource

Status:    Not done

I would like to change the target of the help link in the sidebar at is.wikisource to Hjálp:Efnisyfirlit (like so). The link target for that link used to be that page before Nemo changed it all with gerrit:125191 and I am only asking to get the original link target back. There are no sysops or beurocrats at is.wikisource, so I am asking here instead. --Snaevar (talk) 19:55, 14 May 2017 (UTC)

Not done I tried but it did not work and you should probably ask in another place. Ruslik (talk) 12:02, 17 May 2017 (UTC)
But it actually seems to work (now). Stryn (talk) 12:14, 20 May 2017 (UTC)
Works for me now. I am only guessing, but I think it just was an cache issue.--Snaevar (talk) 00:06, 21 May 2017 (UTC)

Please, make cleaning of trash-basket on rueWiki

Status:    Done

There is no admin here. 12 pages for quick deletion in rue:Category:Сторінкы до швидкого змазаня --Igor Kercsa (talk) 20:31, 18 May 2017 (UTC)

I deleted obvious vandalism and spam but I am not sure the redirects should be deleted. Ruslik (talk) 13:05, 19 May 2017 (UTC)

--Igor Kercsa (talk) 18:24, 19 May 2017 (UTC)

Partially Done. Generally misspelling is not a reason to delete a redirect. Ruslik (talk) 11:42, 20 May 2017 (UTC)

MediaWiki:Common.js on is.wikibooks

Status:    Done

The MediaWiki:Common.js javascript on is.wikibooks has not been updated for far too long. It frankly is time to update it. The sysops are inactive as per the labs tool stewardry. The issues that should be fixed are listed below.

  • Line 2-40: "Scripts specific to Internet Explorer". Remove. Not needed as this was fixed in phabricator:T34241.
  • Line 107-212: "Navigation bars". Update from Mediawiki:Common.js on enwiki, lines 259-360.
  • Line 214-277: "Technical restrictions". Remove. The displaytitle magic word is the fix for this issue.
  • Line 282-362: "Collapsible tables". Update from Mediawiki:Common.js on enwki, lines 125-235
  • Lines 364-396: "Main page layout fixes".
  1. Update from Mediawiki:Common.js on enwiki, lines 20-31,
  2. Translate "Complete list" as "Öll tungumál" and "Complete list of Wikipedias" as "Öll tungumál Wikibóka"
  3. Change the link "//meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/List_of_Wikipedias" to "//meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/List_of_Wikibooks" as this is on an wikibooks site, not wikipedia.
  • Make sure that the appropriate sections are wrapped with mw.loader.using.

Pending DRs

Status:    Done

d:Q24248446 cannot be deleted because of 3 pending DRs of 9 January:

See also c:Commons:Requests for checkuser/Case/Aboobackeramani and c:User:Achim55/Sockpuppet investigations. Best, --Achim (talk) 22:34, 24 January 2017 (UTC)

Two of these projects have active administrators. Please, ask them. Ruslik (talk) 17:56, 25 January 2017 (UTC)
Ruslik, 2 are done, the third one is pending for more than 3 months. --Achim (talk) 17:04, 30 April 2017 (UTC)

I see the 3rd page isn't marked for speedy deletion anymore. Closing. --MF-W 14:37, 29 May 2017 (UTC)

Import three pages from Chinese Wikibooks to BetaWikiversity

Status:    Not done

Discussion on Chinese Wikibooks. The consensus is: Move zh:b:小數展開的秘密, zh:b:有趣的小數 and zh:b:數字算式寶塔 to betawikiversity. However, there are no importers on BetaWikiversity and the import can't be handled by BetaWikiversity admins (Discussion on Wikiversity). --Amanojaku (talk) 13:20, 11 May 2017 (UTC)

Could anyone please help with this issue? --J.Wong 15:46, 21 May 2017 (UTC)
Does beta.wikiversity agree with this? —MarcoAurelio 11:55, 27 May 2017 (UTC)
Nothing speaks against importing these pages. Since betawikiversity (just like incubator) is a wiki with subcommunities, such action does not require any special approval. --Vogone (talk) 12:15, 27 May 2017 (UTC)
413 Request Entity Too Large when trying to import <https://zh.wikibooks.org?oldid=89553>. The file was 139 MB size, apparently too large to import. Will try the others, but if they're too large, I won't be able to do it either. —MarcoAurelio 13:19, 27 May 2017 (UTC)
Error 503 when trying to upload the other file. I desist, please ask on Phabricator. —MarcoAurelio 13:26, 27 May 2017 (UTC)
MarcoAurelio Could you link the request on Phabricator here too? --Samuele2002 (Talk!) 20:02, 27 May 2017 (UTC)
Samuele2002 I have not filled up any ticket on Phabricator. Regards, —MarcoAurelio 13:27, 28 May 2017 (UTC)
MarcoAurelio To try to fix the problem momentarily, I have an idea even if there are two options or you have to do it or I have to ask for import rights to Wikiversity (which I'm going to claim anyway from this problem) and ask temporary administrator flags on zh.Wikibooks. My idea is to divide pages into two or three pages and their history to reduce their weight and allow them to be exported and then import them onto wikiversity where I can link pages and their history. What do you think about it? --Samuele2002 (Talk!) 13:38, 28 May 2017 (UTC)
I don't really have an opinion but breaking histories is something it does not sound like good to me. Maybe enabling transwiki import from zh.wikibooks onto beta.wikiversity is the less costly option, but again, I do not know the limitations of the system so my advice is to ask at Phabricator so you can get expert feedback. —MarcoAurelio 13:53, 28 May 2017 (UTC)
The best thing to do is ask Phabricator --Samuele2002 (Talk!) 18:44, 28 May 2017 (UTC)

I will take care of this tomorrow. No need for weird history destructions. --MF-W 00:38, 29 May 2017 (UTC)

Deletion of useless pages at wikt:ay:

Status:    Done

Can a steward take a look at wikt:ay:Special:Contributions/2600:387:A:19:0:0:0:67? AFAICT these are useless entries created by an IP editor simply to push the wiki past 1K. The same IP address made milestone-creating contributions (that have since been deleted) wihtin about a day of these, at w:ml: (deleted 30 Apr) and w:ta: (deleted 1 May). As for the wikt:ay: contributions, thay are all essentially empty entries, with only the language (all Aymara), part of speech (all adjectives), and headword in each entry, but no definitions. What tips it for me (into mass-deletion territory) is that I was able to pretty quickly find entries labeled with the wrong part of speech: wikt:ay:muxsa is a noun (sugar) and wikt:ay:suxta is also a noun (the number 6). Therefore, I believe all of this user's contributions to that wiki should be deleted. - dcljr (talk) 18:57, 21 May 2017 (UTC)

Hi, all the unuseful pages at wikt:ay: have been deleted. Thanks.--Syum90 (talk) 10:39, 25 May 2017 (UTC)

Request for my account to be unlocked on nl-wikiquote and/or a desysop

Status:    Not done

Can a steward please undo my permanent block on Wikiquote:nl? Last month, this imho completely undeserved block was (again) imposed on me by user:Whaledad, who in my opinion is (still) misusing his administrative rights on this local project. About that, I earlier started this and this discussion, which I ended myself last January, thinking the issue had been solved. Unfortunately, a new sock puppet of Graaf Statler who has already been globally locked since May last year returned on wikiquote-nl and did again some destructive edits (such as nominating good pages for deletion) which I found absolutely necessary to revert. This was Graaf Statler's most recent sock puppet.

Whaledad, for his part, thought this was a reasonable argument to impose (again, as he already did this last year) an indefinite block on me. De Wikischim (talk) 10:52, 23 April 2017 (UTC)

The following is not a strict requirement, but can at least the option be taken into consideration to desysop Whaledad after all on nl-wikiquote, as I already requested elsewhere on this project site some time ago (here for example last year)? There are two main points: 1) For about one year now, Whaledad has more or less been pushing through his own self-willed policy on Wikiquote-nl with regards to the content of that project. 2) Since last summer, Whaledad has, most of the time obviously very consciously, admitted that several sock puppets of the by then already globally locked user:Graaf Statler could still go ahead, causing a lot of fuss every time again, by which Wh. thus violated at the same time the official rules here on Meta. De Wikischim (talk) 19:00, 24 April 2017 (UTC)

In addition, I am still convinced that my first indefinite block, which was imposed in August 2016, had no real justification at all either. About that, I earlier wrote among others here on Meta: [...] What I did here was putting this earlier version of Vituzzu back, after which it was YOU who undid Vituzzu's decision to remove Statler's harassing remark from Robotjes talk page (while Vituzzu is a steward here) by putting the same remark, which by then had already been removed twice, back one more time. You should be very ashamed to go against so many conventions at the same time, being a sysop on Wikiquote. (see one more time this discussion, in which I placed a remark with time stamp 19:09, 8 August 2016). In other words: it was in that earlier case Whaledad himself who actually here undid again (shortly after Graaf Statler's sock puppet Opruimer had done the same) a version of that discussion page which had been placed by user:Vituzzu who is a steward from here (this one), thus actually starting an edit war/(wheelwar?). A little earlier, it had been me from an IP address who had put here Vituzzu's version back (the whole edit history of that discussion page can be found back here). Anyway, Whaledad used THAT (by which I mean, the fact that I had put back Vituzzu's version) as a decisive argument to block me undefinitely for the first time in August 2016, in an edit war in which he himself was involved too, and not just "simply involved" but actually overruling a steward. Maybe the stewards could take that into consideration too, in particular with regards to my additional request to desysop Whaledad on nl-wikiquote? De Wikischim (talk) 21:43, 24 April 2017 (UTC)

Stewards do not have any special authority to override local administrators. So, probably your request will be denied. Ruslik (talk) 12:25, 27 April 2017 (UTC)
Can you please take into account that this is not an ordinary case? It's been going on for about a year now and Whaledad's acting as a sysop (imposing almost completely self-invented rules as a stringent policy, giving arbitrary blocks, on the other hand tolerating silently many block-evading sock puppets of a user who by then already had a block on all Wikimedia projects) has become a point of discussion in several respects, see the examples given above. Several users (mainly from NL-WP) have already expressed their amazement on it. Last year on Wikiquote-nl, Whaledad was tackled about his conduct by several users from here on Meta (example: q:nl:Overleg gebruiker:Whaledad/Archief 2016#De-blokkades). OAuth approval request for QAdemo

Status:    Done

Hi, we want to build a Question Answering System base Knowledge Base, we use FreeBase last years, but unfortunately, when google retire this DB, we think wikidata is a new DB for our, we only need the permission for get entity using id or title&site. Could you please approve this request? Thanks.

Your consumer is owner-only, so it does not need approval from us. —MarcoAurelio 13:54, 28 May 2017 (UTC)
