This sort of content is inappropriate to the site and I'd appreciate it if someone cleaned up this mess?

    We should learn from that other website with usergenerated content en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:No_Nazis quite a few good policy ideas there that could be used to improve SE sites.

While we don't want that sort of content here - but we don't police what people do off this site, and unless there's a clear interaction or reproduction of that content on the site, well its not our problem.

Where it is, we can deal with it in context but we're not going to suspend people for what's on their personal spaces outside SE perview.

Said content has been cleared up (partially for being off topic) and we've communicated our expectations both of topicality, and that folks are uncomfortable with some of this content leaking into the site via their questions.

    unless there's a clear interaction or reproduction of that content on the site dude posted a link to a nazi website... Imagine being Jewish or LGBTQ+ on SU/SE (or any other site where posting a link to a nazi website gets you only a 7 day suspension and the person who reported the nazi gets threatened with a block for using the word that starts with s and means poop)

  • I'd like to believe 99.99% of folks have an intolerance to Nazi viewpoints, and I understand the point @Gantendo is making, yet unless the user's including their views in a question (which has been deleted and I can't view), banning/suspending them isn't going to solve anything - a new account will be created by the user and the question asked leaving out the viewpoints. This applies to pretty much everything - I've come across questions where there's a strong possibility the question being asked is for malicious purposes, but with no clear indication. That's a slippery slope to go down

  • @JW0914 No, banning the user's e-mail address will make it harder for the user to continue posting, though not immediately. Reason: these days, it is hard to obtain new e-mail addresses with no strings attached. While a user can register a fresh e-mail address and get a new account (say, at yahoo.com), he/she will usually have to get his/her contact data verified (e.g., a phone number or another e-mail address). This applies even to the e-mail services in the countries such as Russia, considered enemy nowadays. The state can even track the users of the throwaway e-mail addresses though IP.

  • @JW0914 So creating new accounts and posting criminal content or linking to it cannot be done indefinitely without increasing the risk of getting caught. (As for hiding malicious purposes … well, the same applies for real, offline life. The inability to detect malicious thoughts shouldn't prevent you from trying to block the clearly malicious intent, as stated in the meta question here.)

I took a look at the Web site you mentioned. What I saw was totally inacceptable: weird antisemitic claims, including denigration of the Jews and denial of the Holocaust. This constitutes a crime in certain countries and in my opinion. I take it very personally. If what you said about the connection between the user and the nazi Web site is true, then even simply keeping this user's account around sends the wrong message. If Mehdi Saada is or was really connected to the Web site (I don't see any posts by the user right now, but the administration or the other users might), I vote for removing the user's account and banning the user's e-mail address.
