For other uses, see Moscow.

Moscow was the capital city of the Russian nation-state on Earth, and was located in the European portion of Russia. For most of the 20th century, the city was the capital of the Soviet Union, which Russia was part of at the time.

In 1986, Gary Seven and Khan Noonien Singh captured KGB Colonel Anastasia Komananov in Moscow, where they also faced off with Soviet soldiers. (TOS novel: The Rise and Fall of Khan Noonien Singh, Volume 1)

September 17, 1992 saw an Augment nuclear strike on the city, signaling the beginning of the Eugenics Wars. (TOS - Khan comic: "Issue 3")

When he was a child, Pavel Chekov saw a large draft horse at the wildlife preserve in Moscow. (TOS novel: Windows on a Lost World)

Chekov once remarked that the Garden of Eden was located outside Moscow, and that leaving made Adam and Eve very sad. (TOS episode: "The Way to Eden")

In an alternate timeline encountered by the crew of Enterprise, the Nazis, with Na'kuhl assistance, were able to capture Moscow by 1944. Surviving Russian soldiers were planning a counterattack when Enterprise arrived in the past. (ENT episode: "Storm Front")

The Federation starships USS Moscow were presumably named for this city.
