Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki

A friendly reminder regarding spoilers! At present the expanded Trek universe is in a period of major upheaval with the continuations of Discovery and Prodigy, the advent of new eras in gaming with the Star Trek Adventures RPG, Star Trek: Infinite and Star Trek Online, as well as other post-57th Anniversary publications such as the ongoing IDW Star Trek comic and spin-off Star Trek: Defiant. Therefore, please be courteous to other users who may not be aware of current developments by using the {{spoiler}}, {{spoilers}} OR {{majorspoiler}} tags when adding new information from sources less than six months old (even if it is minor info). Summary[]

A dying Sarek, sealed in an empty room so he will not damage anything or hurt anyone telepathically, listens to a piece by Mozart and recalls early in his career when he attempted to end a war on Meliach III. The ruler, Greth, would not trust him because he would not listen to music with her and her palace ended up being bombed when her enemy, who Sarek believed had agreed to a ceasefire, launched a sneak attack.

He then remembers bringing Amanda back to Vulcan and how, against the odds, she cultivated a garden of Earth plants. He then recalls how she taught Spock to play the piano but Sarek, concerned at Spock becoming too human, was unable to express pride in him, contributing to the tension between them. Finally, he recalls what he has recently learned of Spock's mission on Romulus and privately wishes him luck.
