Garments[]
If there's no reference to using a needle for sewing in an episode, should we really include that definition? -- Renegade54 16:58, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
- I was going off of McCoy's comment about sewing flesh like garments. I figured that suggesting the sewing of fabric was a logical extrapolation from that comment. -- Sulfur 22:37, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, after I reread that quote, I saw it really has references to both definitions. Sorry! -- Renegade54 00:14, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
- No worries. It just proves my theory that you can't actually read. :) -- Sulfur 00:26, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
So who reads? I let the computer read it to me. I just need a new battery in my hearing aid is all... :P -- Renegade54 01:25, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
Split suggestion[]
Split into hypodermic needle and sewing needle. The former is used to inject or remove liquid and is hollow; the latter is used to attach objects while sewing. Different objects. --LauraCC (talk) 17:56, September 21, 2015 (UTC)
- Aren't there a lot of references to just a "needle" to make this otherwise clear issue a lot more muddled? -- Capricorn (talk) 03:54, September 22, 2015 (UTC)
Well, the ones that mention thread or stitching are the sewing or suturing needles. The ones that give injections are hypodermics. --LauraCC (talk) 17:23, September 22, 2015 (UTC)
- I think your explanation is clear but what Capricorn perhaps said is that many references said on screen/typed in one of the scripts are going to "needle". Personally I think both types can stay in one article and we can make sections for both in the article. The article itself isn't that long and if I remember correctly neither "hypodermic needle" nor "seeqing needle" are terms ever mentioned that way. Tom (talk) 18:24, September 22, 2015 (UTC)
Okay, so something like this:
- Uses
- Sewing/suturing
blah blah blah
- Hypodermic
blah blah blah --LauraCC (talk) 18:30, September 22, 2015 (UTC)
