Protective shielding deployed
Protective shielding was a defensive armor aboard UFP-02-type shuttlecraft, which protected viewports in an emergency.
In 3190, when UFP-11 was disabled by a rogue gamma-ray burst and lost navigational control, the shuttle deployed protective shielding over the viewports. Once the shuttle had crash landed on Kokytos, Lieutenant Sylvia Tilly retracted the shielding to see the landscape. (DIS: "All Is Possible")
Later that year, shuttlecraft DSC-09 deployed its protective shielding to protect from asteroid debris while travelling through the ionosphere of Species 10-C's homeworld. (DIS: "Rosetta")
