This species' name was seen on the chart "Evolution of Intelligent Life on Planet Denkir IV". (TNG: "The Child")
"Oniobshi" seems to be a misspelling of Oniboshi, as in its related species Oniboshi lum (and O. lum ran). These three species are all named in reference to the to the Japanese anime and manga series Urusei Yatsura, in this case referencing the alien planet Oniboshi and the character Benten.
