The Lapeerian sun was the primary of the Laap system. It had three planets – two Class J gas giants and the class M planet Lapeeria – as well as an unstable planetoid in a low orbit around the star.
In 2381, during the USS Archimedes' first contact mission to Lapeeria, the star released a large solar flare that caused the planetoid to violently explode, spreading debris and magnetized ionic plasma across the system. (LD: "First First Contact")
