Defense drone

A Defense Drone was a type of armed, atmosphere capable, robotic spacecraft that were known to be in use by the Confederation of Earth around the turn of the 25th Century in an alternate timeline.

The Defense Drones strongly resembled Federation drones of the equivalent period (late 24th Century / early 25th Century) that were primarily used as part of defense perimeters or else defense nets such as Mars' Planetary defense system circa 2385, and presumably performed much the same role.
