The Confederation Corps, also known as the Star Corps, was the primary military force of the Confederation of Earth. This force was active in every quadrant of the galaxy. Their mission profile was to seek out and subjugate "savage" civilizations, conquer war-like alien worlds, and increase the wealth and resources of the Confederation.
As a matter of policy, the Corps routinely employed weapons of mass destruction against its alien foes, ranging from (but by no means limited to) advanced nuclear, biological, chemical, and informational warfare (including nanotechnology) agents to even more exotic weaponry such as the Metreon Cascade. Standard operating procedures also included such expedients as the unrestricted usage of orbital bombardment as tactical fire support.
The Confederation also freely used technologies that were banned or otherwise heavily restricted in the Federation timelines, such as various types of cloaking devices.
In the late 24th century, the Confederation Corps' massive battlefleet was headed up by the top of the line World Razer-type battleships. The other end of the spectrum included light ship classes such as the Steamrunner and Kaplan F17 Patrol Frigates. The Corps also boasted extensive ground forces including planetary assault formations and permanent garrisons.
In 2401, this force was engaged on multiple fronts in the Andorian Rebellion, the Dominion Alliance War, the Cardassian Resistance, and the Vulcan War. Past conflicts included the conquests of Andoria, Cardassia, Romulus, and Qo'noS and the Romulan uprising.
One of their greatest leaders was General Jean-Luc Picard. With the crew of his warship CSS World Razer, he conquered many of the enemies of the Confederation. He killed Gul Dukat, Director Sarek, and General Martok and later displayed their skulls in a trophy room at his home in France. (PIC: "Penance")
