The Andorian system was an inhabited planetary system located in Andorian space within the Alpha Quadrant. This system, neighboring the Vulcan system, consisted of the binary star Procyon, the inhabited moon Andoria, which orbited a gas giant, and at least four other planets, one of which was Procyon V. (ENT: "The Andorian Incident", "Azati Prime", "Kir'Shara", "The Aenar"; DS9: "Tears of the Prophets"; DIS: "Magic to Make the Sanest Man Go Mad")

In 2154, the Battle of Andoria took place on the outskirts of the Andorian system. (ENT: "Kir'Shara")

The system contained several other moons, which were collectively known as the moons of Andoria. (DIS: "Context Is for Kings")

In 2257, during the first Federation-Klingon War, this system was near the front line. (DIS: "The War Without, The War Within")

In a possible future, the historic Battle of Procyon V was fought in this system in the 26th century, between the United Federation of Planets and the Sphere-Builders, wherein the forces of the Federation were successful in driving the Builders back into their transdimensional realm. At least part of the system had been subsumed by a vast trans-dimensional disturbance at the time of the battle. (ENT: "Azati Prime")

Background information[]

A picture of a star chart supposedly used for Star Trek: Discovery was tweeted by Ted Sullivan on 28 November 2017. According to this map, the star Andoria was also known as Procyon, or Alpha Canis Minoris. [1]

Confirmation of Andoria being in the Procyon system, or Andorian system, was made in the star chart created for the Star Trek: Picard episode "Maps and Legends". Unlike the earlier star chart, this one was seen in the episode. In the newer chart, the label "Procyon (Andoria)" was used.
