On July 18th, the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation will enter into force per the European Commission. In Europe’s efforts to mitigate climate change and pollution, the ESPR will play a central role in achieving the goals of the 2020 Circular Economy Action Plan. Ultimately, it will encourage more sustainable business models across the EU. 🏙️ The European construction industry is gearing up to comply with The Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD), which was recently adopted by the European Council on April 12, 2024. Last week, Gerard Young had the pleasure of attending London Climate Action Week at ExCeL London. Reset Connect, LCAW’s flagship event, was the perfect place to address sustainability topics that are solved using AI-first technologies that accelerate positive climate action strategies and how Net0’s AI-first technologies are leading the transformation of corporate sustainability strategies. In the ever-changing sustainability sphere, we have recognized the need for expanding and upgrading technologies at a more rapid pace than ever before. We were pleased to participate in an ambience of like-minded organizations that are filling the gaps in the green transition. Another key aspect of the LCAW discussions was the need for accurate data collection for monitoring, reporting, and verification purposes, IoT technology and automation to cut time and energy in managing data collection, and their important roles in getting us to net zero quickly and efficiently. We especially enjoyed talks by Karen Pflug of IKEA about their sustainability strategy moving forward, Moira Thomas from Currys plc highlighting the importance of participation in the circular economy, Hannah Cornick from Danone discussing their commitment to decarbonization and the necessity for auditable data.
