🌍📈 Companies with strong boardroom leadership can benefit from trillions of dollars in annual business opportunities by addressing new needs that will arise from the effects of climate change, while safeguarding humanity’s future by supporting a fair, sustainable and #NaturePositive future. 💡 We gathered 32 chairs, non-executive and independent directors who are already recognised for their climate leadership at the World Economic Forum in Geneva last week to discuss how to drive #boardroom action on the #ClimateCrisis. These board leaders, from over 20 different countries, agreed that there is a strong business case for climate action. How do we elevate climate as a board room priority and mobilize Directors and Non Executive Directors globally to become stewards in the transition? The World Economic Forum together with Climate Governance Initiative hosted a two day gathering with transformational board leaders to review the barriers and levers for effective climate governance, what are the tools, actions and strategies to get us there. Across regions and sectors many Directors are driving climate action on their Boards. But they need a supportive network and opportunities to deepen their insights on key climate and nature trends, board strategies for sustainability and latest scientific knowledge to drive the message and change home. Alexandra has been appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in the King’s Birthday Honours 2024, for services to the built and natural environment. The Climate Governance Initiative supports board directors all over the world to steer their organisations to reduce carbon emissions and has a presence in 73 countries, covering over one third of global CO2 emissions.
