The Minimally Invasive Image-Guided Intervention Center (MAGIC) is part of the Department of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine of Radboud University Medical Center in Nijmegen, the Netherlands and is chaired by prof. dr. Jurgen Fütterer.

The group has its roots in MRI-guided prostate treatment, and we have expanded to CT-, US-, and MR- image guided oncologic interventions, as for example biopsy of prostate, bone and liver; (non-) thermal ablations of pancreas, liver, kidney, prostate and vascular malformations. Supplementary we focus on nuclear interventions with Holmium particles; intra-operative navigation; robotics; ex-vivo imaging; clinical decision support; and perfusion and vascular interventions. The interventions are developed and performed in close collaboration with the Medical Innovation and Technology expert Center.

It is our goal to have a significant impact on healthcare by bringing our technology to daily practice. We are therefore fully equipped to develop, implement and improve image-guided interventions for clinical practice.

Medicine is evolving more and more towards personalized and minimally invasive treatments specifically tailored to individual patient. Herein, imaging plays an increasingly important role, both in the diagnostic setting as well as for image-guided therapies. Rapid technological advances in assistive technologies, surgical navigation and robotics further fuel the development of this field. With the advent of the MITeC hybrid OR’s, the Radboudumc has established a leading role as an international reference site in integrating imaging into treatment modalities.
