𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵!! Seli Overseas, a Webuild Group company, celebrated the breakthrough of the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) at the end of its underground journey spanning approximately 9.55 kilometers and passing through 9 stations, contributing to the connection between Houari Boumédiéne Airport and the existing El Harrach station.   The TBM, named Karima, made the breakthrough to reach shaft PV0 in the presence of representatives from Seli Overseas, the Algerian Minister of Transport, the contracting authority Cosider M28, and the client EMA.   Since commencing operations, the TBM has achieved a maximum daily production rate of 30,27 meters and a maximum monthly production rate of 600.45 meters in just 31 days. #tunnelling #infrastructures #enginnering

𝗟𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗢 𝗧𝗨𝗡𝗡𝗘𝗟 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗝𝗘𝗖𝗧 AV/AC Torino-Venezia Road Section: Milano-Verona Lot: Brescia est - Verona  On February 28st, the TBM Martina completed the second drive with the final breakthrough of the Lonato Tunnel.  This is the critical work this for the completion of the Milan-Verona section of the new High Speed Railway line connecting the city of Turin with Venice. The Lonato tunnel includes two tubes of 4.8 km each and the related completion works. The project was awarded to SELI Overseas, a Webuild Group company, by the Concessionaire, Cepav 2, and has been excavated by a 10 m diameter EPB TBM with an average production of 16 m/day. This result is particularly relevant when considering that it was obtained in a complex geology, predominantly glacial moraines with boulders embedded in materials with low cohesion under shallow covers. 𝗖𝗶𝗿𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗮𝘇𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗱𝗶 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗟𝗼𝘁 𝟭/𝗔 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 On January 4, 2024, the Factory Acceptance Test for the first of four Dual Mode TBM for the high-capacity railway 'Circonvallazione di Trento Lot 1/A Project' was successfully completed.  The FAT of the TBM has been carried out with the representatives and technicians of the Consortium Tridentum committed to realizing the project, composed by Webuild – Ghella - Collini - SELI Overseas, at the CREG’s premises in Zhengzhou (China).   After dismantling, the TBM will be delivered to Trento and will bore the 9,68 m diameter tunnel. #engineering #tunnelling #tunnel #tbm #infrastructures

SELI Overseas, as a specialized subcontractor for the excavation of the Forch window, part of the Munich – Verona railway axis project and more specifically for the southern access to the Brenner base tunnel, quadrupling of the Fortezza – Verona line, lot 1, Fortezza – Ponte Gardena, has completed the assembly of the TBM shields in collaboration with the DOLOMITI Consortium (WEBUILD and IMPLENIA) just over 9 weeks after the start of on-site activities. At the beginning of January, after the Christmas break, the resumption of construction activities will include the translation of the TBM shields to their final position and the assembly of the backup gantries directly in the prepared launch cradle. #RFI #tunnelling #engineering #infrastructures

𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗼 𝗖𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗼 As a Service Expert for the Greater Cairo Metro Line 4 project, SELI OVERSEAS is providing support to Petrojet Company. Remarkably, the project achieved a significant milestone by excavating the initial 100 rings within the first month.   The project aims to excavate the first twin tunnel spanning 5.3 km, encompassing 4 station crossings, employing a Hydroshield TBM with a diameter of 6.7 m. 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗴𝗹𝗶𝗼 𝗧𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗹 As part of our subcontract for the Giampilieri-Fiumefreddo Lot 2 for the 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘂𝗺 𝗠𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗮 (𝗝𝗩 𝗪𝗲𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱-𝗣𝗶𝘇𝘇𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗶), remarkable progress is ongoing in the assembly of TBM shields of the Sciglio tunnel. The twin tunnels, stretching over 𝟭𝟴 𝗸𝗺 in total, will be excavated by this Dual Mode TBM with a boring diameter of 9.16 meters, the first of the “Green” generation that is setting new standards in industry development. The TBM is scheduled to commence excavating in 𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰. 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵!! On 21st November we proudly celebrate the breakthrough of Seli Overseas's TBM at Hacen Badin—the last station along the route in the "Extensions du metro d’Alger. Lot 1" Project in Algiers. Notably, this TBM stands as the first machine employed for a metro project in Algeria. The TBM's breakthrough was realized after excavating through a challenging stretch spanning approximately 530 meters, characterized by highly abrasive sandy formations. The demanding conditions necessitated multiple hyperbaric interventions for the maintenance of cutterhead tools. However, the journey is not over, as approximately 750 meters remain to be excavated before reaching the final extraction shaft. #tunnelling #engineering #tbm

𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗣𝗝 Seli Overseas is pleased to announce the signing with the Dolomiti Consortium (composed of Webuild and Implenia) of the subcontract for the construction of the Forch window tunnel, a 1,293.7m tunnel that will be excavated with an EPB TBM with an excavation diameter of 11.05m. The job is part of the interventions to be carried out for the Munich-Verona Railway Axis and more specifically in the quadruplication of the Fortezza-Verona line, lot 1, Fortezza-Ponte Gardena section. The project is located in one of the most complex sectors of the Eastern Alps, near the Insubric Line, an important fault system separating the Northern and Southern Alps. The tunnel geology along the route is extremely heterogeneous and consists mostly of phyllites, paragneiss and alluvial deposits.
