It's time to wrap up a wonderful event for an incredible venture! On April 4th, a Demo Day was held at MyCampus with the projects that made it to the finals of the Alpha Wave 1.0 program in the field of NeuroDefense. Many teams participated in the program in an attempt to find solutions to real challenges offered by the defense industry. The fascinating presentations wouldn’t be possible without our participants: The NeuroSync team worked with Rafael Advanced Defense Systems to present a real-time assessment of cognitive load by examining a person engaged in a multitasking process or playing a computer game that requires attention to many actions and stimuli. The Cognitive guard team worked with DDR&D (MAFAT) - Directorate of Defense Research & Development in order to map the cognitive activity of users engaged in routine, boring or stressful tasks (for example: improving the concentration of observers who sit for hours in front of a screen...) The Neurates team worked with ELTA Systems Ltd in order to test in real time whether cognitive load in a learning process (during a learning task) is harmful to the learning process or can improve learning. The Cognitive Classifier team built the base for the three projects and created a live demo for a system which can assess cognitive load in real time. We also want to thank David Rand the teams' technological advisor who helped them realize their potential despite the many challenges along the way. The representatives of the participating companies: Alona Barnea, Assaf Harel, Yotam Sahar, Shalom Natan, and Rita Perets for their input and investment in the progress of these projects. To Build to Support and Ilan Dorot who helped us find great tech volunteers for the mission and Medint who gave tremendous research services to the teams. In the second part of the conference, the projects participating in Alpha Wave 2.0- Iron Resilience promoting technologies in the field of Mental Health were presented. This was followed by a fascinating lecture by Lion Gai Meir of the Enosh-The Israeli Mental Health Association about important considerations for introducing technology into mental health treatment. Lastly, the 4 teams and the 4 companies advancing to the next stage were announced. In the next stage they will jointly promote a technological solution in the field of mental health. As the country is struggling with unprecedented demand for mental health treatments following the events of October 7 and the war that followed: "Iron Resilience" from BrainstormIL is an initiative that responds by creating an incubator for startups in the field of PTSD. Companies participating in the initiative receive full support for resource mobilization; 11 teams are currently working on a grant proposal for the Israel Innovation Authority aimed at finding solutions for the mental struggle. The process is accompanied by the cooperation of the BrainstormIL team and Iron Resilience entrepreneurs who are taking giant steps towards the end of the first phase of the program(this Thursday, April 4th at My Campus). We are proud of the excellent team that has led this initiative and has contributed to the program running in a masterful and amazing way: Danna - Director of the Industry Vertical: recruited the participating companies and maintains connection with the representatives. Danna Pinto PhD Roy - Has planned and defined the professional content for the program, and is responsible for matching the participants. Roy Bleicher And Ortal – The Alphawave Project manager has been responsible managing the various aspects of the program including organizing the event, working with the teams, and ensuring the organization of the team initiative Ortal Meron The "Iron Resilience" initiative receives praise and assistance from a variety of parties in Israel and around the world, the team of entrepreneurs, together with the BrainstormIL association, will continue to do everything they can to help our souls, our families, our friends - and the strong nation of Israel! The AlphaWave program began yesterday with the opening event of our 2nd cycle - Iron Resilience! This program is particularly exciting because not only do we have the opportunity to continue developing the field of neurotech in Israel, we are specifically promoting the development of technological solutions for PTSD and other mental health disorders. A field, which following the events of October 7th, was very important for us to put on the map. It was clear to us that when planning the program that we would like to do something not only for the expanding neurotech community but also to echo support for the issues that we feel should be put in the spotlight. Energies at the opening event were at an all-time high, it was obvious that everyone wanted to get started. The team, our partners and participants of the program! Ofek Salama CEO of BrainstormIL shared "The connection created by the integration between academia, industry and clinical centers along with venture capital and government bodies is a realization of the vision of BrainstormIL to create a vibrant community in the field of neurotechnology." We had the opportunity to listen to fascinating talks that came to support and provide initial information that the teams need to get started. Our specialized immersive program creates multi-disciplinary teams that will accompany a start-up company and health organization in the process of clinical validation for their mental health technologies. Two stage program  3 week boot camp where participants will receive guidance and training in submitting a grant proposal to the Israel Innovation Authority.  Top 4 teams will then enter a 2 month immersive training program where they will get hands-on experience in conducting clinical trials as well as access to courses and workshops that will provide them with the skill needed in the neurotech industry.
