The Maymyo Peninsula is a peninsula located on the western side of Burma. It one of the regions of the country that has been ravaged by heavy fighting against the Japanese 57th Infantry Division.
Geographical information[]
The Maymyo Peninsula is like most of the other terrain in Burma, covered in jungle and forest, subject to heavy monsoons and intense humidity. The Arakan Joma mountains run arcoss the peninsula, and one of the most strategic points in this region is the bridge over the Thegyan River. This route is the primary supply line and course of retreat for the Japanese 57th Infantry Division, which is fighting valiently to hold it's positions around this area, and cover other Japanese units retreating to Coordinate 170 further along the mountain range. There have also been other secret Japanese developments in this area.
