About us

Hellenic Cables is active in the manufacturing of cables, conductors as well as plastic and rubber compounds and over the past decade, has evolved into the largest cable manufacturer in South-Eastern Europe, exporting to more than 50 countries. Its production base consists of five plants in Greece, Romania and Bulgaria, which manufacture a wide range of products from high voltage submarine cables to extra high voltage power cables, plastic & rubber compounds. Our production plants in Thiva & Oinofyta, Greece manufactures low, medium, high and extra high voltage land power cables, telecommunication cables, plastic as well as rubber compounds, individually tailored to customers’ specifications. Sousaki’s Plant in Corinth, Greece manufactures medium, high and extra high voltage submarine cables, submarine fiber optic cables as well as composite cables, special purpose cables. Fully-equipped port facilities operate within the plant to ensure immediate cable loading onto cable ships. Our industrial facilities in Bucharest, Romania produce a wide product portfolio which includes cables for indoor installations, power, control, industrial applications, low and medium voltage, are-retardant, are-resistant and halogen-free cables, mine cables, marine and special-requirement cables, telecommunication cables, signaling, remote control and data transmission cables, as well as plastic and rubber compounds.

    Cenergy Holdings, alongside ElvalHalcor and SIDENOR steel industry, supported the initiative “Career prospects of Vocational High School graduates in the industrial sector” in collaboration with The Tipping Point in Education. Throughout the past school year, students from various Vocational High Schools located in Corinth and Viotia, specialising in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Electronics, and Automation, were given the opportunity to gain insight into potential career paths in our industry. This was made possible through their interaction with mentors from both Cenergy Holdings companies, Hellenic Cables and CORINTH PIPEWORKS, who provided valuable information and helped them prepare for the job market.   Costas Vavaroutas I FCMI, Human Resources Senior Director, Cenergy Holdings, stated, “This initiative has been a remarkable journey for our people, as we focused on preparing these young minds for employment in the industrial sector.     Exciting News from the "Cyclades Regatta 2024"!   We are delighted to share a different kind of sponsorship by Hellenic Cables, the cable segment of Cenergy Holdings, in the context of “Cyclades Regatta 2024”, an International Sailing Race in Greece which took place from June 22 to June 29, 2024.    The sailing boat under the name “Hara Ton Angelon IV—Hellenic Cables,” achieved an outstanding performance, securing 2nd place in both the Sport and Sport 1 categories!  The race which set sail on Saturday, June 22, from Vouliagmeni, covered a route through Cyclades islands, including Milos and Serifos, where Hellenic Cables has undertaken the project of the electrical interconnection of those two islands contributing to the islands’ economy, energy security, and the reduction of the country’s carbon dioxide emissions.   Congratulations to the entire crew for their outstanding performance and excellent teamwork.   #CycladesRegatta2024 #HellenicCables #CenergyHoldings #Sailing #Teamwork

    Cenergy Holdings announced that its Board of Directors reached a final investment decision to build a cable manufacturing facility in Baltimore, Maryland, USA. Further to the previous press release dated April 22, 2024, the first step towards its implementation has been completed; the Company’s US subsidiary, Hellenic Cables Americas, acquired the 153,800 sq.m. (38-acre) waterfront property at Wagners Point, Baltimore after successful completion of an extensive due diligence process and all customary approvals. The first phase includes the construction of a land cables plant to address USA’s growing need for Transmission & Distribution grid upgrades of cost ca. USD 200 million, including the property acquisition. Design is complete, permitting is on track and construction works are expected to commence by the end of the year. The second phase shall include furtherexpansion to manufacturing submarine cables subject to firm developers’ offtake agreements and related final development decisions. In addition to the above, further to the press release of December 20, 2021, the Company announced that, following Ørsted’s decision to reposition its US Mid-Atlantic project (Skipjack Wind farm), discussions related to potential collaboration between the Company and Ørsted have paused and will be revisited as this repositioning effort evolves.     We are delighted to announce that Hellenic Cables, the cables segment of Cenergy Holdings, was awarded a contract by Elia Group, as a goint venture with DEME Group, for the engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) of high voltage submarine power cables. This major project is part of the ambitious Princess Elisabeth Island initiative to strengthen Belgium's renewable energy infrastructure. For both Hellenic Cables and Deme, this project is very important as it follows the successful execution of MOG I for Elia, where the two companies have collaborated again in the past.   Under the terms of the contract Hellenic Cables will be responsible for providing three offshore 220 kV export cable systems with a total length of 165 km, that will connect the transition jointing pit on the beach with the transition connection area on the artificial energy island in the area of the Princess Elisabeth wind farm.   For more information read here: https://bit.ly/45GYzNy   #CenergyHoldings #HellenicCables #EliaGroup #DEMEgroup #offshorewind #energytransition

    The latest Global Offshore Wind Report 2024 has just been released from Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) Learn more on the latest trends and market outlook in this promising energy sector…   During 2023, 11 GW of offshore wind were connected to the grid, a 24% increase vs 2022 - the second-best year ever despite headwinds in key markets. Governments, institutions, the industry and society share a common understanding that the offshore wind industry can provide largescale, reliable and clean power and are driving the momentum forward, as a clean energy solution. The key to unlocking the full capacity of the supply chain is manufacturing process innovation and advanced automation technology, which can lead to affordable energy prices and profitable project execution. It is noticeable that annual offshore wind installations are expected to triple in 2028 from 2023. Offshore wind is projected to be able to deliver one-third of the energy sector emissions reductions for a net zero world by 2050.     During Posidonia 2024 event, George Georgallis, R&D - Engineering Director of Hellenic Cables, delivered an insightful speech regarding MUSICA Program. An innovative initiative which aims to provide a comprehensive decarbonisingsolution for small islands, seamlessly integrating their marine initiatives (Blue Growth) and ecosystems. The MUSICA Program, which is of particular significance to Greece, will be implemented on the island of Oinousses, highlighting its relevance and potential impact on local communities. George Georgallis highlighted significant contributions of the company to the offshore renewable energy sector. Central to this is its involvement in three cutting-edge projects funded by Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe, which focus on floating offshore wind technology, where Hellenic Cables has taken the lead in designing, manufacturing, and testing dynamic submarine cables.  Additionally, he shared insights into an EUDP-funded project in Denmark, which exemplifies Hellenic Cables' innovative approach. This project involves designing, manufacturing, and testing a prototype submarine cable capable of transmitting both offshore-generated electric power and hydrogen gas, paving the way for more versatile and efficient energy transmission systems. George Georgallis stated: “Through these pioneering projects, Hellenic Cables contributes to the advancement of offshore renewable energy and plays a pivotal role in the MUSICA program’s vision.     We are pleased to announce that Christos Iliadis, IT & Digital Transformation Director at Cenergy Holdings, participated as a speaker at the 7th Smart Factory Conference, which took place on Thursday, May 23rd at the Ethniki Asfalistiki Conference Centre. Christos Iliadis referred to the importance of resilient systems' architecture for smart manufacturing. He emphasised strategic objectives such as enhancing efficiency, fostering innovation, improving the customer experience, and enabling data-driven decision-making.
