You’ll need a API KEY to integrate Donorbox with Zapier. To create a key, you’ll need to sign up at https://donorbox.org. After you register in Donorbox click Account in top navigation, then click API Key in left navigation and click Set new api key. Please ensure that are you are logged into Donorbox as an admin user and the email that you are using in username is the Org email that you have set up in your Donorbox account.

Note: If your Donorbox billing is suspended then the data won't be sent to Zapier. Please reach out to support@donorbox.org if you are having issues with your Donorbox triggers in the Zaps.

Copy the generated API key to some place safe as this key will only be shown once for security reasons.

You can create a Zap to trigger Donorbox events to other applications to perform some action on their platform while utilizing the data from Donorbox. If you are already login in Zapier.com to create a Zap click Make a Zap on the top navigation bar.

In Choose a Trigger App, search and select Donorbox

In the Choose Trigger step, select the any of the triggers that you need and click Save + Continue. The current triggers are:

• Donors
• Donations
• Campaigns

After you have selected your trigger, connect your Zapier account to Donorbor. Click Connect an Account to open authentication popup asking, Allow Zapier to access your Donorbox Account?.

Authenticate with your organization email as username and API KEY as the password. If you get an error, it is likely you put in your Donorbox password instead of the API KEY.

Once connected in Choose Account step, click Test to verify the connected account, click Save + Continue.

Once you have finished choosing your trigger. You can connected to any of your favorite applications. In this case we will connect it to slack.

In Choose an Action App search and select Slack.

Once you have selected Slack. You can choose any action to send Donorbox Information to your Slack.

Connect your Slack Account and set up your Template. In Message Text and in some other fields there is a Plus Icon to the Right of text field to add dynamic content with data fetched from the Trigger App connected to the Donorbox API. Once the form is filled click Continue.

Click Finish to finish configuring of the Action App.

Name your Zap and Turn your Zap On to make it Live.

Finally make a donation on Donorbox and verify the Zapier and Zap in Action, i.e. see its data being passed to the Action App(in this case slack).
