𝗚𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝘂𝗺𝗽𝗵𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 '𝗝𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗲'! After much debate and culinary exploration over the past few years, the verdict has been reached: Yes Ghana's Jollof Rice emerges as the undisputed champion! Apologies to my #Nigerian family, but it was the tantalizing flavors and aromatic spices that did it for me. #Ghana for the win! 🫣 The 3i Africa Summit was to me, more than just a mere meetup, it was the conversations on the rides to and from the conference every day that sparked a profound introspection leaving me wondering about my contribution towards #humanity. Benazeer Saïdoo Juliet Ongwae, PhD Rashmi Pillai I gained sisters ❤️ The well thought-out plenary sessions and presence of policymakers from across the continent fostered meaningful discussions on pressing global issues, showcasing the progress Africa has made. 𝒑𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒆 𝒌𝒆𝒆𝒑 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒏... I was very impressed by the exceptional service and personalized attention, from the efficient airport registration process to the seamless transportation arrangements, the team's meticulous attention to detail and warm hospitality all made a profound impact on me and am sure many attendees can attest to this! Thank you Enoch Amon and the entire Bank of Ghana planning team. 🙏🏽 The Women in Tech conference, hosted by Standard Chartered Bank Ghana, emphasized the importance of deliberate strategies in fostering a more inclusive and equitable 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 environment for women. It was an honor meeting the powerhouses Mansa Nettey , CEO Standard Chartered Bank Ghana and Michele W. CEO Standard Chartered Bank Vietnam and seeing my #Zambian sisters Lelemba Phiri and Evelyn Chilomo Kaingu just gave new meaning to the hashtag Zambia Ku chalo (Zambia to the world!) The Minister of Communications and Digitalization Ghana, H.E Ursula Owusu-Ekuful inspired us all with her transformative leadership. Her presence at our panel session was a true highlight for me, adding a special touch to the discussion. Seeing the expressions of the young participants, eager to learn and grow, filled me with a deep sense of fulfillment. It reinforced the importance of providing young people with the guidance and support they need to thrive. Most importantly I truly aspire for these conversations to catalyze meaningful change at the national level. I eagerly await the day when we can retrospectively proclaim, 'I actively participated in the upliftment of someone, of a nation, of my continent. I made a tangible impact and left an enduring legacy.' After all, innovation is about people! Ghana, your vibrant culture and gracious people have rekindled my profound love for #Africa. Your warm hospitality made me feel truly embraced, inspiring me to eagerly return for more unforgettable experiences. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗴𝗼𝘁? 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗲, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿: 𝗮 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲. At the recent 3i Africa Summit in #Accra, I had the humbling experience of speaking at Elevandi's #FoundersPeak, a cathartic experience in which speakers have the opportunity to share a purposeful story with the world and one that can inspire the next wave of entrepreneurs, leaders and society at large. I reflected on the opportunities that have shaped by entrepreneurial journey and some key lessons learnt thus far. 𝗩𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘀𝗼𝗼𝗻. From my first chance encounter with a computer in 2002, two defining scholarship opportunities at Light Academy Boys Secondary School and UWC Red Cross Nordic, to a life-changing study abroad trip to Italy in the summer of 2016 with University of Oklahoma's Presidents Leadership Class as the first from The Davis UWC Scholars Program, mine has been a journey defined by incredible opportunities. This is why I have committed to building Maarifasasa (https://lnkd.in/eJUygezW), to pay it forward by creating life-changing opportunities for Africa's youth. Maarifasasa is on a mission to upskill Africa's young talent with employable digital skills and connect them to global earning opportunities. We collaborate with experienced mentors from various industries to deliver practical training programs online and in person. Our global employment partners recognize and recruit these skilled talents as freelancers and remote virtual assistants. In just 4yrs, we have already trained over 5,000 young Africans in in-demand digital and soft skills, including over 1,300 freelancers. To date, we have successfully matched nearly 1,000 youths with local and global employment opportunities, contributing to their career growth and economic well-being. The inaugural 3i Africa Summit, held in mid-May this year and jointly developed by the Bank of Ghana, Development Bank Ghana, and supported by Elevandi, aims to drive transformative discussions and explore opportunities to advance Africa's fintech and digital economy growth. The event hosted Heads of State, policymakers, investors, and financial sector leaders across Africa and beyond. The summit provides a platform for policy discourse, entrepreneurial endeavors, and investment networking, focusing on Africa's digital economy and fintech. Anchored on the theme 'Unleashing Africa's Fintech and Digital Economic Potential,' the 3i Africa Summit was held in Ghana from May 13-15, 2024, under the patronage of H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, President of the Republic of Ghana and African Union Champion for Financial Institutions. One of the key sessions at the summit was:- "Financing SMEs for Cross-Border Trade: The Role of Strategic Partnerships in Driving Innovation and Reducing Costs and Risks for Banks." The panel discussion explored innovative financing solutions, digital and global financial literacy, and the adoption of UTC by financial institutions to support SMEs in accessing global markets. The speakers for this session included me; @Mayo Ajibade, Chief Executive Officer, FactorEx Africa; Kofi Adomakoh, Managing Director, GCB Bank PLC and Eric Tsiri, Head of Enterprise Banking, Stanbic Bank Ghana. The 3i Africa Summit presents a unique opportunity for stakeholders in Africa's fintech ecosystem to engage in meaningful discussions, explore investment opportunities, and drive the continent's digital transformation.
