    Would there be a difference between "bisher immer" and only "immer" in your examples at the end (e.g. Das haben wir immer so gemacht)? Commented Apr 23 at 18:21
  • @AlanEvangelista I think "bisher immer" has a small implication that this fact might change, "schon immer" implies it probably won't change, and simply "immer" has no such implication in any direction, it's more about stating the fact than implying whether it about to change or not.

  • "Herbert war immer ein Raufbold (Deshalb solltest du dich nicht mit ihm anlegen)". I believe I would personally rather use the present tense for this case: "Herbert ist ein Raufbold", and "Das machen wir immer so"
