We just got our very first and very exciting EDGE SpAIce project consortium gathering. Agenium Space was joined by CERN, EnduroSat and National Technical University of Athens . Was truly honor and pleasure to see everyone in person, exchange ideas, visions and of course status update of onboard-AI for plastic monitoring. In a summary: everyone is working on their parts and we look towards first results to be announced in some conferences this autumn. Below are some pictures. Welcome to EDGE SpAIce Our consortium composed by Agenium Space, CERN, National Technical University of Athens, EnduroSat is thrilled to participate to the EDGE SpAIce project. EdgeSpAIce, #HorizonEurope funded project, aims at demonstrating an efficient approach to deploy deep neural networks (DNNs) at the edge. 💡 The Edge SpAIce project plans to develop an innovative technology to pave the way towards creation of highly efficient Earth Observation (EO) services by deploying AI-analytics on satellite. Despite challenges such as high computational power requirements and complex DNN architectures, Edge SpAIce will optimise AI execution, enabling its compatibility with various on-board satellite hardware 🛰. 🌍 Our ultimate goal is to prove the potential of edge-AI technology for remote monitoring of marine plastic litter on a satellite according to EU Mission #EuropeanGreenDeal . By developing new Earth observation technologies, we are putting high technology at work for the benefit of the environment by helping to detect marine pollution.
