No 24" Cinema Display Brightness Control Monterey

As of macOS Sonoma 14.2, native support for brightness control has returned for my c.2009 Apple 24-inch LED Cinema Display on my M2 macbook pro. The display is also detected correctly in display settings, with a nice new icon for the display.

Anybody test Sonoma 14.2 with the Apple Cinema HD Displays?

Where do you see the brightness control for the 24'' Cinema Display? I can only adjust it with the app MonitorControl on my 16'' M1 Max with macOS 14.2.

Yes it finally works for me too, strange Apple didn't mention it in their update logs.

Works like a charm on my 27" LED Cinema Display. A nice little surprise. Guess I won't be needing MonitorControl anymore.

I have a 23" HD Cinema at work I can try, but I won't be back until after the holidays.

I have a 30” ACD at home but I don’t feel lugging it up upstairs to try with my M1 Mac mini given my pre-Xmas time crunch. I’m sure someone else will try soon.

It's probably easier moving the mini than that behemoth of a display.

Anybody test Sonoma 14.2 with the Apple Cinema HD Displays?

When I finally update, I can report back for a 23" Apple Cinema HD Display.

Though for me the brightness buttons on the side of the 23" monitor work fine on Ventura 13.6.7 (and earlier versions of Ventura) from a Mini M2 Pro, and the display shows up correctly in "About this Mac".

As the media and brightness keys on my third party keyboard do not work with my Mini, I have BetterDisplay.app installed, which is similar to MonitorControl.app, but with extra features. If I disable it, the monitor's buttons are more responsive, which isn't surprising.
