Seven deals and counting - KPMG leads the charge in Finland's mid-market M&A scene! KPMG Deal Advisory & Strategy acted as a financial and legal advisor to BP-Tech Group, in the sale of the company to Swedish Trelleborg Ab, listed on the Nasdaq Stockholm. BP-Tech Group is a market leader in no-dig pipe rehabilitation technologies, with a comprehensive line of over 1,600 products including one of the world's most advanced pipe coating systems and a proprietary spray-in-place solution for pipe repair. BP-Tech Group has an expanding global footprint, and a strong presence in Europe via an extensive distributor network. This transaction underscores KPMG’s ability to deliver highly successful outcomes in synergistic, cross-border transactions across a variety of sectors.

Corporate Sustainability Leaping Forward! The European Parliament adopted just few minutes ago the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive - also known as #CSDDD of #CS3D - with 374 votes in favour and 235 against. This comes just a day after a complementary piece of the legislative framework on responsible business, the Forced Labour Regulation, was adopted with an overwhelming majority This is a great day for #humanrights and #environmental #duediligence as it will be mandatory requirement for companies in scope. Additionally #climate #transition plans need to be adopted and implemented. #KPMG is prepared - are you?

In my view the question is not “if” AI should be part of a company’s growth strategy, but rather “how” the company should leverage the technology to increase growth and profitability. All companies must become tech companies. Companies that do not adopt AI will be replaced by those that do. AI adoption will not be quick or easy, however. Companies must do the hard work to identify specific opportunities to enhance value creation, determine which technologies meet those needs, and then work with their teams to transform operations. Data will be at the heart of these efforts, which in itself can be a daunting undertaking. To this end, the Toshiba America Legal Team (with leadership from William N. Collins, Matt Muchmore, and Maria Hoffman) is collaborating with the KPMG Legal Operations Transformation Services Team (led by Eric Gorman, Jeff Hall, and Nathan Giang) to develop the vision and strategies for the initial phase of AI implementation and transformation. The primary goal of the project is to begin seamlessly integrating Microsoft Copilot into the daily operations of our legal department, focusing initially on those areas that are likely to create the greatest value. We envision the Legal Team eventually will utilize Copilot (and eventually GenAI tools optimized for the in-house legal function) as intuitively and frequently as we currently use any other business application. We also will be building AI solutions to automate high-value workflows and developing a data strategy to support longer term AI deployment. We believe that GenAI will increase the Legal Team’s capability to create value, ensure we can deliver that value at the speed of business, and over time decrease the cost of legal services. #leadership #GenAI #artificialintelligence #Innovation #legalinnovation #chieflegalofficer #generalcounsel
