Announcing our new technology milestones! We are proud to announce our latest technology achievement of two-qubit gates with a record fidelity of 99.9% and qubit relaxation time of T1= 0.964 +- 0.092 milliseconds and dephasing time of T2 echo 1.155 +- 0.188 milliseconds. Achieving high two-qubit gate fidelity is the most fundamental and hardest to achieve characteristic of a quantum processor, essential for generating entangled states between qubits and executing quantum algorithms. The coherence times, on the other hand, are among the key metrics for assessing the performance of a single qubit, as they indicate how long quantum information can be stored in a physical qubit. These major results show that our fabrication technology has matured and is ready to support the next generation of our high-performance quantum processors. The significance of these results stems from the fact that only very few organisations have achieved comparable performance numbers before. The results were achieved through innovations in materials and fabrication technology and required top-notch performance across all components of the quantum computer, including QPU design, control optimisation, and system engineering. “This achievement cements our tech leadership in the industry. Our new paper on quantum error correction! Quantum low-density parity-check (qLDPC) codes offer a promising route to scalable fault-tolerant quantum computing. To perform computations on the quantum information encoded in qLDPC codes, it is necessary to understand the structure of the logical operators and logical gates of these codes. In this paper, we investigate certain types of qLDPC codes, namely bivariate bicycle codes, from a new angle. We use their symmetrical structure to gain insights into the logical operators and construct fold-transversal gates using this very special structure. We welcome Michael Barbero, a retired Army Lieutenant General, to the IQM Quantum Council, an invite-only executive group aimed at accelerating the quantum agenda. Lieutenant General Barbero has served in a wide variety of leadership assignments and has commanded forces at every grade, from Lieutenant-to-Lieutenant General. He has served, simultaneously, as the Deputy US Commander of US Forces and Senior NATO commander in Iraq. “Considering quantum computing's potential to solve some of our most pressing problems, I am excited to join this talented group at IQM to advance quantum initiatives, especially to bring IQM’s unique capabilities to the United States, which will strengthen US-Finnish relationships and advance our mutual interests in this critical sector,” said Lieutenant General Barbero. In his post-Army career, Lieutenant General Barbero has successfully built a broad portfolio of international business activities. He has provided leadership to companies in the following sectors: electronic warfare, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, infrastructure projects, software for smart cities and infrastructure, energy engineering and trading, and defense. He advises companies that invest and fund private companies in the defense sector. He also has built an extensive network of international political, security, and technology in Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa. Exciting news: opening of our first quantum data centre in Germany! We are thrilled to announce the opening of our first quantum data centre in Germany to support industry applications. The data centre, located in Munich, is equipped with two of our quantum computers, manufactured at our commercial chip production and assembly line in Finland. Our plan is to place up to 12 quantum computers in the new data centre. In addition, we are exploring use cases in machine learning, quantum simulation, cybersecurity, and optimisation, among others. The data centre supports our recently announced cloud offering. Commenting on this announcement, Hubert Aiwanger, the Bavarian Minister of Economic Affairs, said: “I am delighted about the opening of the IQM Quantum Computers data centre.
