Page moves

[edit]

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Wii Party + Wii Play: Motion

[edit]

Hello, I've noticed that you've been making many edits to Wii Party and Wii Play: Motion. I have examined your editing patterns and you seem to often copy and paste text across the articles (putting verbatim text in both the introduction, gameplay, and development sections) as an effort to expand them. While I am assuming good-faith in your intentions, this actually hurts the quality of the articles because it simply becomes redundant to read the same unchanged information over and over. This also causes problems with the references, where the same references are repeated over and over, unnecessarily increasing the article memory and making the article harder to maintain. For these reasons (and several others) I strongly suggest refraining from using a copy and paste technique to expand the articles. Hope you hear me well. --ThomasO1989 (talk) 02:23, 22 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Before saving your changes to an article, please provide an edit summary for your edits. Doing so helps everyone understand the intention of your edit (and prevents legitimate edits from being mistaken for vandalism). It is also helpful to users reading the edit history of the page. Thank you. DanielRigal (talk) 19:47, 24 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from Monopoly (game). When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. -- Doniago (talk) 20:32, 28 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome

[edit]

Hello, TheLoverofLove, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your edits have not conformed to Wikipedia's verifiability policy, and may be removed if they have not yet been. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media. Always remember to provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. Wikipedia also has a related policy against including original research in articles. As well, all new biographies of living people must contain at least one reliable source.

If you are stuck and looking for help, please see the guide for citing sources or come to the new contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!  Mjpresson (talk) 17:09, 26 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for telling me this

[edit]

I didn't know there wasn't a screenshot of the game in the Super Mario Galaxy 2 article; don't know what I was thinking nominating the article without a screenshot; thanks for telling me this, otherwise I wouldn't have known; I have now put a screenshot of the game into the article; again, thanks-SCB '92 (talk) 12:44, 20 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure, only one game screenshot is really necessary, and any more would violate non-free criteria, and I know a map screen is a new feature in the game that wasn't in the original Super Mario Galaxy, but I want to get this to a GA, and I think the Cloud Mario is better at illustrating the gameplay, demonstrating the new power-up absent from the original, and if there is another screenshot from the game in the article, someone will review the article and say that only one screenshot is needed, and will probably fail it; so I suggest not to I'm afraid-SCB '92 (talk) 15:47, 20 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Note

[edit]

Hi TheLoverofLove. When I reviewed Rugrats: Time Travelers at DYK I found there were a few instances of close paraphrasing. You weren't the nominator so I don't know whether you knew. I've looked at Swing Away Golf and there seems to be similar issues there as well. It can be hard to write things in your own words without falling afoul of original research. The pages here and here may be able to help. Christopher Connor (talk) 01:22, 31 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You also did this on Wii Party a while back by simply copying information from the interviews directly into the article. Wii Play: Motion also suffers from addition of information straight from the source, especially since there is little or no context given for some information. This also goes back my comments I gave earlier on your relying on copy-and-paste as an effort to expand articles (particularly on Wii Fit Plus), which you inexplicably deleted. --ThomasO1989 (talk) 03:03, 31 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Your assistance at Template talk:Did you know for Active Life: Explorer is required. Christopher Connor (talk) 15:53, 1 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've re-removed the non-free album covers from this article for failing Wikipedia:NFC#Multimedia. The use of non-free covers in discography type articles is strongly discouraged. Please do not restore the images to the article again. If you have questions, please ask. Thank you, --Hammersoft (talk) 15:34, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Super Mario Galaxy 2 review

[edit]

okay, so you reviewed Super Mario Galaxy 2, which I nominated, and I just want to know: did you actually pass the article? in the review, you said you've passed it; but on the talk page, it is currently on hold. In the Wikipedia:Good article nominations page, it says if the article meets the good article criteria:

1.Replace [GA nominee] on the article's talk page with [GA|{tildes}|topic=|page=]. Please include "GA" in your edit summary. 2.List the article on Wikipedia:Good articles under the appropriate section. Encourage the successful nominator(s) to review an article themselves.

So I'm just wondering if you actually know the process of passing a Good Article nomination, and what to do after it meets the criteria-SCB '92 (talk) 18:28, 5 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

About the Block

[edit]

If you ever block me ever again, then I WILL NOT HAVE IT! *Bangs a Table*. (TheLoverofLove (talk) 19:56, 11 August 2011 (UTC))[reply]

TheLoverofLove, you have been doing a fine job lately on video game-related articles, but you cannot make death threats like this. One of the major aspects on Wikipedia is the ability to get along with others and be willing to work with others and not against them. That remark is the antithesis of that. That said, I'm afraid I have to agree with this block. Settle down, take some time off, and come back after the block ends when you're better able to do so mentally. That's the best advice I can give right now. –MuZemike 20:32, 11 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:The Cat in the Hat Soundtrack Cover.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:The Cat in the Hat Soundtrack Cover.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 21:55, 28 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

SomeWhatLife (talk) 01:03, 18 October 2021 (UTC) Hi, TheLoverofLove, please note that i have nominated your file for copyright problems. The reason is that you claim you took this yourself, but it may possibly be a screen-grab from YouTube. You can see a timestamp, which you tried to crop out. That's unacceptable.[reply]
