Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome! --Wikiacc (talk) 17:00, Jun 21, 2005 (UTC)

Coincidences

[edit]

Hi, there. I can't say that the oboist/potential musicologist thing rings a bell. As far as I know, we don't have any oboists in the musicology division, here, or for that matter, anyone doing significant amounts of work in the Baroque. I do, however, have a good friend from Vanderbilt who last I heard, was getting a PhD in musicology at IU. Small world. Microtonal 30 June 2005 03:45 (UTC)

Tom Delonge Page

[edit]

Hey, I was just wondering why you reverted over my edit of the Tom Delonge page. I don't know what was wrong with my edit, but I'm kinda new to Wikipedia, so it would be useful if you could tell me what was wrong so I can avoid making the same mistake in future. Thanks ^_^ 62.254.128.5 2 July 2005 19:46 (UTC)

Thank you

Thank you for reverting that vandalism to my user page.

Hi NymphadoraTonks,

thank you very much for you warm welcome :) Although I am already a bit experienced from editing and contributing to the German Wikipedia, I really enjoyed being welcomed here.

For being one of the kindest and most thoughtful Wikipedians, I hereby award you The Random Acts of Kindness Barnstar. Sango123 (talk) 23:02, 2 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Nymphadora... or Tonks, whichever one you'd like to be called. :) Thanks for your concern. Although I don't think I'll leave Wikipedia permanently, I need to take care of some things in real life. I'm touched by your offer, but you've helped immensely just by leaving that message (it made me smile). Regards, Sango123 (talk) 23:02, 2 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. Oh, and a Barnstar for you! I'm glad we finally met. :)

I gave you a little "award" on your user page. Feel free to remove it if you don't want it. See ya. --LV (Dark Mark) 15:54, 3 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

You are awesome! I feel branded now! I'd reply on your user page, but I know you're watching me... Also, you should feel special because this little message to you is my 500th edit. I was going save it for a real cool edit to some article, but I've decided you're worth it. --NymphadoraTonks 16:26, 3 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Awww... thanks for honoring me with your 500th. Keep up the good work, you saxy boy. Yeeeah, I got nothing. Cheers. --LV (Dark Mark) 16:37, 3 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Back

[edit]

What a warm welcome! (And fast) Thanks for noticing that I joined. Your user page is great, primarily due to "orange soda" and being a librarian- wow! Anyway, thanks again. Chamb 20:46, 4 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

oberwiki

[edit]

Hi there, you mentioned you're an Oberlin alum. I don't know if you've come across this but a little while ago I started a wiki site for Oberlin. The next time you're bored, visit http://oberwiki.net/ -- any contributions you feel like making would be greatly appreciated. —alxndr (t) 02:05, 14 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I am wanting to put something together for my userpage, but have no idea where to start. I like the info box on the right but am not sure how to add anything to it. Please answer on my talk page. Thanks. Beatdown 14:00, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

WP:CVU status

[edit]

The Wikipedia:Counter-Vandalism Unit project is under consideration to be moved to {{inactive}} and/or {{historical}} status. Another proposal is to delete or redirect the project. You have been identified as a project member and your input as to this matter would be welcomed at WT:CVU#Inactive.3F and at the deletion debate. Thank you! Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
