Blarchmont Elementary School moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Blarchmont Elementary School, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions so far. I hope you like the place and decide to stay.

Disambiguation pages

[edit]

Please note that disambiguation pages like Trumpeter (disambiguation) and Wasp (disambiguation) are meant to help readers find a specific existing article quickly and easily. For that reason, they have guidelines that are different from articles. From the Wikipedia:Disambiguation dos and don'ts you should:

  • Only list articles that readers might reasonably be looking for
  • Use short sentence fragment descriptions, with no punctuation at the end
  • Use exactly one navigable link ("blue link") in each entry that mentions the title being disambiguated
  • Only add a "red link" if used in existing articles, and include a "blue link" to an appropriate article
  • Do not pipe links (unless style requires it) – keep the full title of the article visible
  • Don't list every article containing the title - partial title matches aren't ambiguous

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on BE AMAZED requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Control copyright icon Hello Liamd967! Your additions to The Midnight Gang have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 14:01, 27 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Megamonster has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable children's book that might have problems with copyright violations.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Liz Read! Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Grammarly Cite.png

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Grammarly Cite.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 18 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Hi. It has been almost six months since my Wikipedia account has been blocked. Please read the unblock requests above to understand that my account should now be unblocked. I think the main reason that I am still blocked is because I created a sockpuppet account without reading the guidelines for Wikipedia. The second account I created was to help out and improve Wikipedia while I was still blocked. For the last couple months, I have been helping out on wikiHow almost every day because my Wikipedia account has been blocked. You can visit my wikiHow account at wiki.how/user:liamd. Decline reason:

It's only been a month since you were caught evading your block as Wiki-inventor. You seem to think this was okay. It wasn't. WP:SO is probably your only option at this point. No sooner than six months from now, and only if you've made no further edits, make a new unblock request. At that point, you'll need to clearly demonstrate you understand how inappropriate it was to set up a new account. I'm also concerned with your understanding of copyright. Your prior request from March violated copyright. Yamla (talk) 11:22, 15 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Hello, I know that I am blocked on Wikipedia since I keep violating copyright, but perhaps I might be able to start editing on Wiktionary. Due to it being a dictionary, I feel that it is harder to violate copyright. I feel that the inability to create copyright violations on Wiktionary will be helpful towards Wiktionary and my full unblock. Please check out my Wiktionary contributions and wikiHow account as I have made numerous good edits, including an article. Liamd967 (talk) 03:37, 4 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You don't need to ask us if you want to edit other Wikimedia Foundation projects where you are not blocked.
