Wondering how to point out and correct inaccuracies in an article that are not based on published facts when the correct facts are published and can be verified? --Yostgreen39 (talk) 00:18, 24 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

hmm {{cn}}> should point out that there are citations needed. That unfortunately is all I can provide you at this moment in time. In the meanwhile, you can go ask WP:Teahouse. -- Grapefanatic (Talk) 12:14, 24 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question about how to revert vandalism/how to block a user from vandalism.

[edit]

Hello! I only just recently started editing Wikipedia pages, and I have gotten to the point where I have begun to make larger edits or edits on larger pages.

I am just curious about how to handle pages/text that gets vandalised. Is there a quick way to reverse the damage, or will you need to copy/paste the info again?

I have also seen that some users have been blocked from their wiki account for vandalism, so I am just curious as to how it happens/who can do it!

Thanks for reading! FreckleTheCat (talk) 00:35, 5 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ah!! This is a very good question and I would be glad to answer it for you. You can undo vandalism with the "Undo" button, in which it will show you what you will be undoing so you can be sure that you wish to undo it, the next step is to type in an edit summary for the reason of removal, and finally you can click the confirmation button. -- Grapefanatic (Talk) 12:25, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Users can be blocked for many different reasons, but vandalism is a prominent one. The people who carry out these Blocks are called sysops (system operators), though most call them admins. Sometimes admins come across a blatantly obvious vandal and block them, although some vandals are blocked through AN:I, (Administrators Noticeboards: Incidents) A process that can take anywhere from seconds to weeks. I hope I answered your question! -- Grapefanatic (Talk) 12:29, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You did, thank you very much! FreckleTheCat (talk) 11:20, 8 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
