Nihonjin gakko which do NOT have hoshuko divisions

[edit]

In the New York city area the New York Japanese School and the New Jersey Japanese School are not designated as the hoshuko of the NYC area. There are two separate schools: the New York Weekend Japanese School and the New Jersey Weekend Japanese School, which are the hoshuko. All of these are, however, under the umbrella of one organization: The Japanese Educational Institute of New York, or JEI.

The nihonjin gakko in Chicago and Guam, however, have hoshuko divisions.

The Los Angeles and Atlanta areas have Shiritsu zaigai kyoiku shisetsu and those do not have the designated hoshukos of those areas. Asahi Gakuen is the hoshuko of Los Angeles, and the Georgia Japanese School is the hoshuko of Atlanta. WhisperToMe (talk)

Moved to "North America" but keep in mind MEXT defines "North America" as only being United States and Canada!!!! WhisperToMe (talk) 17:06, 6 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Info

[edit]

The Japanese Ministry of Education List of US and Canadian hoshuko (Archive) is the basis of this template. The first list on that page is of schools that have teachers sent by the Japanese government (a school generally needs to have 100 students before it gets Japanese government teachers). The second list is of the schools that don't get government teachers (the smaller schools) WhisperToMe (talk) 17:20, 6 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
